What did you trade/sell to get your rx-8 ?
For me, if everything goes good tomorrow it will be a slightly modded MINI Cooper S.
The dealer thinks we can hammer out a deal to make us both happy, but then again I think they always said that. I hope we can...
If not I am still happy with my MINI.
With all that being said, this might be my first and only only post.

Go to another dealer. Don't mention the trade and get the best price for the 8. Come back with the trade after you get the price of the 8. If you do it this way, you take what they give you for the mini minus what you owe directly from the best price they gave you for the 8 in writing preferably. Might take an extra day but you could save a bundle.

if you are trading it in, keep this in mind:
There should be 3 separate transactions.
1: price of the new car.
2: price of your trade-in
3: financing.
keep them separate and it should be alright. when they start mixing the three, you can end up getting screwed.
I traded an impreza in a few days ago on the rx-8. I ended up paying 25,395 for the rx-8, got 1,000 over bluebook for the wrx, and ended up with some rebates from mazda (1,500) for financing through Mazda USA.

2001 Amulet Red Audi TT. I needed to be able to take a rear facing car seat and have no car payment. My wife has a Volvo V70R that is good for family trips, but I still need to take my child on occasion.
and a
2002 Mercedes E500 Sport.
The 8 has been a kind of odd transition for me.
All the things that morons complain about such a s power are fine.
What I have a hard time with is overall quality. Just, the strength of the panels, the build quality.

Traded #1164 Spicy Orange Mazdaspeed Protege (1 of 600) , I do miss the stero in it and the awesome one of a kind color, I could locate my car anywhere. It took the salesperson 7 hrs to talk me into an 8.
I do know who bought it and they are taking good care of it.
I'm glad I traded very happy with the RX-8 except which it came factory with Sirius

tricked out 1997 chevy s10, it had 18" budnik wheels, GMC Enovy front clip complete with real HID headlights, cowl inducted hood, billet windshield wipers, Gibson catback, 4 wheel disc conversion, beefed up tranny, jacobs ignition, hotshot intake and k&n filter, custom one off billet steering wheel, pedals, gauge faces, stereo that went bumpity bump until it got stolen, etc. etc. I gave the thing away for 3,000 complete with everything minus the stereo for obvious reasons.

a slightly mod. 1986 porsche 944 w/121,000 miles. I loved this car but the 8 handles just as good and has more power, plus now everythings under warrenty.
Except I got 30 mpg on the porsche, but no regrets...
