if i was having troubles with the 8 that i got i would have just gotten another one and hope it'd be trouble free. hehe, but that's just me. nice upgrade tho and this is the first time i've heard about Mercedes being troublesome.

I've had a few friends with the C230 like that - all I can say is good luck.

Reliability with the 8 is much better than that C230 - at least in my experience. And as RG pointed out, its not that much of an improvement in gas milage.

wow, I drive 9.5 hours and come back to this! haha.

Umm, ok, lets cover it all in one swoop..starting with Gas mi.

I got 27-28 mi. highway driving the whole trip up. I only had to stop for gas twice: Once before i got on the road, and once after Atlanta.
Normally in the 8 i would have stopped 4 times. Once before i got on the interstate, twice on the road and once again when i got in town...I was getting about 21-22 mi. on the rx8 highway on a GOOD day.

As far as city driving: The last 8 times i had claculated the 8's gas mi i was getting between 12-13 city/highway spilt. So far on the c230, it's been around 18/19 which is a ton better IMO.

Reliablity: It's called extended warranty. Gotta love what paying 3,500 will do for 2 years/24k miles. Can't complain there! I shouldn't be keeping the car much longer than that. I have never heard of any problems. I did a lot of research on the car and of course (like the 8's) SOME people have had issues with them, but overall, people seem to really enjoy them.

SO i'm happy...end of story.

OH, PS: For all of you who think this means I'm leaving the rx8club--you are SADLY mistaken.. I'm stickin' around bitch's.

well, regardless of what problems some may or may not have, I have yet to read of any just blowing up (twice) or any "major" issues with the majority of them..

...yet again...with the warrenty, i'm still better off than i was with the 8

It's not like i'm a "tratior" to the 8 community...i put in almost four years. Thats a good amount of time..not to mention all the other people on here (even mods) who no longer have their 8's.

It's ok though, people will always be haters...it happens...all i know, i <3 my new car, miss my 8, but there's nothing to do at this point but enjoy the new ride and stick around here w/my true loves
