Ford is absolutely correct. Unless given permission by the copyrights holder you cannot profit from their product. You can freely give away the calendars but not sell them. The same goes if someone takes a picture of me and use it for profit. they have to obtain the rights or at least a lisence from the individual before they can profit from their image.

So when a celebrity gets their picture taken by the media/papporazzi they sign a release form every time?

I always thought a picture was property of the photographer?

Media coverage for racing events are licensed. Outlets televising these events are also licensed. The press are given credentials to cover the event since this is free publicity. Anyone participating in these events are allowed to record what goes on but they cannot sell these images without written consent from the organisers.

question, what happens if they photochopped off the mustang and ford emblems. can ford still attack them, because the car looks like a mustang ?
not sure if that make sense. sorry.
