Are any of you fine, knowledgeable folks aware of a universal remote for automobiles? Something like a universal remote for TV's or a variation on the Homelink garage remotes.

I've got three cars, with three remote fobs and carrying them all is a major PITA. I'm thinking one remote (about the size of the RX8's) with a slide switch for: Car 1, Car 2, etc. , and pushbuttons for Lock, Unlock and Trunk. I did a Google search but only turned up remote starters.

Sounds like you've got a potential Patentable idea going - if you hadn't blown it by discussing it in public before your filing. Nonetheless, good idea for a new product.

 

I thought about that angle, but at this period in my life I'm not looking for new adventures. I'd just be happy if someone made the gadget.
