Hi, first time poster, long time lover of rotary engines.

So much so, that I've been looking for an RX-8 engine for sale, but have had absolutely no luck whatsoever. My plan is to replace the 13B in my '87 RX7, because the horsepower gains from mod-ing that out would be about equal to just getting the RENESIS. I figured: Why risk reliability, gas mileage, etc. for the same amount of hp? Makes sense to me.

If anyone has any clue as to where to find one near the chicago area or any area near there for that matter (I'd be willing to drive for it), please respond. I'm hoping for something along the lines of a salvage yard (doubtful) or an insurance claimed one, or a government liquidation sale or something.

i'm sure it'd need some dicking with to get everything squared together, but i think that this is smething that a lot of RX-7 guys will be doing in a few years.

imagine a GTUs or a first gen with one of these puppies :D pretty happy little RX-7 it'd be.

 

talk to mazmart.com they get this kind of stuff in...also there is another vendor on the forum that sells renensis engines

also mazdatrix.com has had them as well but I haven't seen them there lately, good luck...and post pics when your done
