Well, the Ford Fiesta is really a Mazda Designed Chassis and Platform of the 2008 WCOTY , the Mazda 2.
And the Mazda 2 now comes in a 2 door hatch, and soon diesel.

Somehow I don't think we will see one at all, there is talk of the 1.4l Diesel you guys have in Europe coming to Australia, but that is about all.
Diesel anything here (apart from trucks, busses and tractors) is still a "hard slog" to sell.
