Spine tingling - recent Furai track video

The video is kind of short but the sound alone makes it worth a watch.

I wish Mazda would build something like that or at least race it in LeMans.

She'd say you're an idiot. What else do wives say?

As for the sound keep in mind its' not just any old 20b (heh) it's a 20b built off the Renesis. Pretty sure you can't find those of Fleabay.

Sounds fantastic.

other posts I have read have said that a 3rotor based off the renesis was not possible due to the side ports or something. So now this is a 3 rotor based off the renesis? Can anyone explain? RotoryGod?

Much has been made about this power plant but upon further investigation it is little different from the Mazda 3-rotor of years past. The R20B is Cosmo-based and while it may be accurate to say it is of the Renisis family, it is more of a reverse relationship with the Cosmo engine begetting the current Renisis and not the other way around. Though John Doonan does indicate that this R20B benefits from the Renisis in the area of the rotor design at very least, thus making the R20B Cosmo-based and Renisis influenced.

After the part you quoted, he then goes on to say:
In September a new engine was introduced, the Renesis-20B 3-rotor.
How is this different from the previous motor?

I can not get past the first few lines of the article due to dreaming of what could be if Mazda gave us a 20b Renesis.

Not only is the Mazda Furai concept visually stunning, but the sound of its 450-horsepower RENESIS-based R20B triple rotary engine is ferocious enough to make the most seasoned professional GT driver weak in the knees.

Engine sounds nice, but

I want those car jacks built in to my 8!

So how do I make a sound clip of that?
I want my computer to sound like that every time i start it.

ive heard mazda toss around the word 3 rotor renesis a few times, amd each time they were using a peripheral exhaust ported 20B... not a side port.

I would suspect this is the case here. The extra cast iron in a side ported 3 rotor would be quite interesting looking if it was real, but again, I doubt it.

I seem to remember reading that racing beat was involved with the tuning of this engine, am I correct? If it was a sideport, I think quite a buzz would have been made before now.
