I agree with you. But I don't think everyone who buys a V6 Mustang is a "non-car" person. That's all.

 

i don't care if you're offended, me and a couple of my technician friends (who've seen and analyzed which cars are mainly driven by females) made up this list (not in order):

-mr2 spyder
-miata (offended a lot of people)
-scion tc
-toyota celica
-bmw 3 series
-2000 and newer civics
-del sol
-jetta (#1 on our list)
-beetle
-cabriolet (#2 on our list) (i've never seen a man drive this car)
-rav 4
-any minivan
-any saturn

these are cars we've seen mainly driven by females, i'm not saying your gay or have gay tendencies if you drive one of these cars.

I've driven a minivan. Even dusted a Porscha in it. Admittedly it was my mom's and I had just taken it with me for my 2nd half of college until I chose a car (got a CL Type-S). Actually, all things considered that mini-van could corner pretty well. It was fun feeling like I was in a speeder bike chase every time I had to take on on/off ramp. Boing-a-boing-a-boing.

I did know one guy who drove a Saturn. At the time it was pretty good if not one of the best in it's class. It was a manual. Damn good driver. Not only that he makes Odd-job look whimpy and his wife is model quality. Both work in the medical profession make significant money.

Oh did I mention he has a life size Han Solo in Carbonite on his wall.

Oh, It been a long (Loooong) time since he had the Saturn.

Agreed on the V6 stangs. They are just slugs out of the hole and the only people who buy them are for the image. I'm not a fan of V8 stangs because they are all over the road when they handle as well, but that's another story. The Rousch group takes care of the new mustang quite well though...

honestly, who really gives a ****? Just because you see a lot of women/men driving something has no relevance, I see dozens upon dozens of ladies driving big *** pickups everyday so I guess that makes them chic-mobiles?

^i agree. even though i put it on the list, i didn't agree with it. i was outvoted 2 to 1 so i had to put it in. every other car on the list however, we all agreed on.

happened to me 30 mins ago:
i was picking up food at in n out and saw a dropped, black, one of the nicest rx8s i've seen. i was gonna go through the drive thru window but decided to go in to see if i could find the driver. i parked right next to it and thought it would be better to just wait a couple of minutes for the driver to come out instead of going inside in n out, looking like a jackass and screaming "who drives the black rx8?". while i was waiting, i decided to smoke a marlboro light. right when i light it, i look up and a hot ***, import tuner model looking girl, (maybe half asian half white), approaches me and asks me if i had an extra one. so i give her one and she started asking what i had in my car. i told her it was pretty much stock etc etc. and said that i wanted my car to look like the rx8 next to mine. IT ENDED UP BEING HERS! i thought she approached me because she thought i was cute, so that somehow bursted my bubble. but the best part about her rx8 was it had the cf kd burnout front lip. shes knows her ****! her engine was stock but her suspension was modded. jic front and rear sway bars, tein coilovers WITH the computer. of course one of my first questions was whether or not she was a member of this forum. her reply was an unfortunate no. i needed her to confirm my story to all of you guys. =). when she left, i thought about this thread. i wouldn't mind people saying that the rx8 is a chick car if women that drove rx8s fixed up their rx8s like this one. and i don't mind at all that she was a perfect 10. i hope this doesn't make me sound like a sexist, because i'm not. i just get a little bit offended when people say that the rx8 is a chick car because to me, saying that it's a chick car ranks it with beetles, cabriolets, and jettas.

It has been many years since I've seen anyone other than a hispanic male driving a Del Sol. About the only people I see driving Celicas are little spikey haired white dudes and the same goes for the TC for the most part. Also, I see almost all males driving the 3 series, it's ultimate "look at me, I want people to think I have money but it's just a lease and I live in an apartment" kind of car. Lastly, I don't get the Civic one, that's just about the most diverse owner base I can think of.

 

I'd love to see some real stats of some of the claims in this thread.

 

of course i told her to join. and her response was, "i don't even have enough time to have myspace". i left it alone at that. i didn't want to impose on giving her my number, let alone, my member name on this forum. right now, i'm having second thoughts though. i should've at least given her my number and tell her that i can get rx8 parts for dirt cheap, (which is not true). i don't think my girl would be too happy about that though.

and just so we can all live happily, and to end all the fussing and debating, we'll just settle for 2 chick cars. the VW beetle and cabriolet. i even left out the jetta b/c i know someone's going to be offended by it. so there you go, you're only considered to be feminine if you drive either a beetle, or a cabriolet.
