A chick car is a car that is primarily driven by chicks, period. A chick car can be fast, handle well, be very capable offroad, ugly, or anything . . . but it every damn time you see one, it's a chick behind the wheel, it's a chick car.
The Hummer H3 is a great example of this. It might be able to tow a boat and plow over rocks and ford rivers--but you only see them in the suburbs, being driven by women. Chick car.
V6 auto Mustangs. I swear to God that every fake-tan, dyed-blond chick in the world who graduated HS the same year as me got a brand new silver V6 auto Mustang from Daddy. In my time at Michigan State, I would say approximately 87% of all cars on campus were sliver V6 auto Mustangs driven by chicks.
Sunfires. Now here's where it gets tricky. My dad bought me a Sunfire as a surprise Christmas present (my '91 Civic had more problems than my wallet could fix at the time). I quickly realized that EVERY OTHER SUNFIRE IN THE WORLD was driven by a girl, usually with a pink feather boa steering wheel wrap or some heinous **** like that.
Thank god I got out from under that thing.

That being said I was trying very hard to get the SLK32 AMG but the asking price was ridiculous so I bought the 8 instead.
I guess then it all comes down to what one perceives as feminine and masculine. Some cars may outright look feminine e.g Beetle but some may get blurry like the new MX-5... and I guess that's where it gets argumentative.
Also please don't confuse this with Auto vs Manual... IMHO there is no such thing as Auto RX8 is a chick car whereas M/T is man's car..If a car is a chick car its a chick car regardless of tranny..
That being said Auto is for sissies but we'll leave that for another thread
That being said the SLK32AMG only comes in auto

My point is that 'chick car' is self-defining. I say that a V6 Auto Mustang is a chick car, because nearly all of the times I've ever seen a girl driving a Mustang, it's been a V6 with a slushbox. Why? Because the girl likes the ride, can't drive a stick, and doesn't know what a V8 is. Conversely, I bet you that an overwhelming majority of manual-transmission Mustangs are driven by guys.
I'm not saying that anything with an automatic transmission is girly. I'm saying that you know a Mustang with a V6 and a slushbox wasn't bought to be driven--it was bought to be ridden in.

I highly doubt non-car people buying the Mustang give a dang whether it is front or rear drive. It's about looks at the V6 level.

secondly - in hough2696 's defense - "performance" is all relative. i came from a '99 civic, so yes ... I personally bought the rx8 for performance. just because there are other cars out there that may perform better than ours does not mean it's reasonable to think an rx8 buyer doesn't care about performance...
so, i got tired of multi-quoting -- whoever said it really doesn't matter what car it is, just that is seems as though it's predominantly driven by women ... i agree with you!!

let me tell you, down in SOCAL, its the chicks who are crazy fast drivers, not the guys, the rx-8s that pwn the streets are all girl driven anywhere near me, including my school, which had 2 guys with rx-8 and we both have auto(F**k you mazda) and the 2 manuals are both girl driven, and seriously
have you ever seen girls drive cars? I'm not saying all girls are shitty drivers, on the contrary, they are pwnage drivers(except for the fact that they might pwn themselves someday) but tick one off, and that chick would hit the pedal like theres no tomorrow, even in a honda odyssey, she will pwn u, cus when you hit that 1XX, you're like "oh crap this is rediculous" she, on the other hand is going "DIE BITCH!!" or she simply cannot understand what the speedometer is or what it is telling her, regardless, chick cars/their drivers pwn
