Ok, I went to this dealer the other day, to see how much they would value my rx8, the men checked and everything, finally he came to me and said. we can only value your car this much... $6000. He said the reason is because my car has a rebuilt tittle or salvage tittle. is this fair? i bought for 13k I got a 07 Rx8 AT with 49 k on it. i mean the car looks nice no issues at all! so would it be better to trade in or to downpay for another car?...Pleaseeee let me know your opinion.

By the way. the car i wanted was a toyota tacoma 5 speed. it was 18000.

 

Selling it private party will probably get you another $2,000 but you have to put some time and effort into it.

 

The dealership will downplay you, you should know that by now. They don't go for retail, they will offer you the lowest price to make a profit...that is purely business. Anyway, if you want to get more money from it, sell it private. Good luck.

 

Sell private. Dealerships is always the worse way to go, they have to make money and they going to do it off you. They will tell you anything to lower their cost. If you have the time to sell it on your own do it, more $$ for the down payment later. Kelly blue book it under the private seller.
