scion tc info?
hey guys, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with a tc. my baby sis is looking at an 06 auto with about 50k on the clock for a first car. anyone know of any big issues? i read up on them on a few tc forums and they seem pretty decent. i had to laugh tho, must tc owners reported normally buring 1-1.5 qts of oil in between 5k oil changes.
thanks in advance to anyone who knows about these

One of my employees has had one for a few years and it has been trouble free for her. It's a Toyota so typically if it has been well maintained it will last to 100k easily without issue.

My brother owns one and he loves it. Handles decently, comfy interior and gotta love the hatchback. And i do most of the maintenance on it, so as far as i know it hasn't burned that much/if any oil lol.
It almost has 100,000 miles (currently 95,000) and still runs like a champ.
But the one thing i hate about that car is the super long doors. They're just annoying.

I had a tC for about 3 months before trading it in on my '8. (Don't ask, retarded story).
I enjoyed it for what it was: reliable econo-coupe. It's based off of the Toyota Avensis (euro sedan) so it's heavier than it would be otherwise. On the upside, silly amounts of legroom in the back for a coupe. The driver's seat was nice; didn't have any of the usual back problems (common for me back then). The interior controls were a little cheap but functional and effective. The 2AZ-FE engine is reliable and adequately torquey for basic transport. The hatchback was nice but the cargo floor seemed a little high which felt like it limited total room. Never really had the chance to fill it up though I did load it up with enough Pergo to refloor a medium-sized room.
If I were shopping for a compact 4-seater this would definitely be on my list again (and probably above the Civic, Corolla, Focus, etc of the same generation).

NADA retail value for a 2006 tC in good condition with 95k miles is around $10k. $8.2k is a good price but if $7.5k is the limit then that's what you have to work with.
