SAAB not in a Healthy Position!
Most of us are aware of SAAB's recent purchase by Spiker at the 11th hour when GM (then owner) was about to close the doors on it's Trollhattan Swedish plant.
Sadly after a recent new model launch (GM design) SAAB has reported around a $900 million loss!!....already.
SAAB was looking for a willing 'other' maker to use it's plant to re-produce a small car on a contract basis, obviously to maintain assembly capacity and to keep line workers
earning their pay check.
Can SAAB survive her poor retail sales??
At least 4 Suppliers have stopped deliveries as payments are not being honoured.
So, without parts cars can not be completed.
Very sad to see SAAB in this position, IMO GM could not make it work, so what chance has Spiker??
Making good cars is more than keeping a few very well meaning on-line SAAB enthusiasts and owners happy.
So, what now for SAAB??

I hope Saab doesn't go away. This was my favorite brand in the 80s and part of the 90s even though I never owned one. The new 9-5 is very nice, although I think a car in that range should have more power. 300hp with awd in a big car is not much. I remember when Saab were making more power with turbo 4s then the Europeans with big v6s. The aero should be making like 375hp.

^^Next to my FC, the Saab was my favorite car. Had an 87' 9000s....I loved that car, and it handled like a champ!!! I mean it was a boat...but it was a lot of fun to drive and very neutral. I hate to hear this about them.

I never like SAAB, there is nothing special about the brand.
if I want something reliable? I get a Toyota.
if I want Luxury ? I get BMW/Mercedes
if I want cheap? I get a Kia
if I want something looks cool, Any leading Japanese/BMW/Mercedes will do.
Where is SAAB? When was the last time they made something reliable/luxury/cheap/looks cool? none in my book.

Mazda (if properly sustained by AD's, sport activity AND model -especially into UP side of line up) coul be the cool/sporty/luxury/oddball of 10's. IMHO
i'm sincerely impressed of the good volume of sales of cx-9 into a tough segment as SUV-segment is....
Mazda could made a lot more into upper segment (example into " saab 9-5 sedan zone").
But (almost here in EU) you must invest A LOT into commercials & motorsport activities
Example: see the brand "infiniti" on the suite of Vettel...infiniti is barely unknown here in EU..but people whatch that name at top of the podium almost every GP.....

While both the hummer lineup and the saabs are useless and horrible cars at least 15years behind in technology the causes of their financial problems is completely different.
