RX8 vs. Lancer evolution IX
i am very ashamed of my Rx8, after all the upgrades, it still can't beat an stock evolution, why couldn't mazda make a rotary engine that can have more than 300 horses. My best friend just got an EVo 9 yesterday, and that thing is sooo quick and it looks better, it cost him only$30,000 of the lot and my Rx8 has much more upgrades. It is very shameful to know that the rx8 is the worst sports car made that has no torque what so ever. I am selling it soon and getting an Sti or an Evo

What upgrades do you have and how can you possibly conclude it's the WORST sports car ever made? And, I'm assuming you're just drag-racing on the street.
And it looks better than the 8? Never heard of that one before.

I've got news for you, the Evo 8 will do the same thing to your 8. Which is something you should have known before you bought the car. The RX-8 is a good sportscar, but if you're a power/mod freak it's an awful choice. Again, something you should have known before purchasing the RX-8...

I've got less than 30 gs in mine and I out run STis, not sure about evos since no one around here has one. This car isn't a brute in power sense but it's an all around car. It has power, handling, and looks...guess that's not what you're wanting.

damn... this forum is harsh! a guy can't even admire another car and vent how slow the 8's are.
sickestrx 8..... i got your back homie! just sell your 8 and buy a twin turbo rx 7 and blow all these fool out the box. i personally like the 7 a lot more! plus girls get wet off of hearing my blow off valve more than the sound of a plan jane rotary!
nothing better than hitting 15 psi and hearing the sweet sound of my hks ssqv!

News flash...the EVO 8 will best a Lamborghini Murcielago on a track. But hey...why don't you show your boy up and do us all a favor, get yourself a dodge SRT-4...it'll be faster in a straight line, just don't go around any corners.

thank you guys for posting those comments, Yessssssssssss... my whole purpose for this thread was to be proud of my RX8, everyone in here said that the Rx8 is better than Evo, and i am very glad to hear that cuz i needed to hear that from someone rather than my friend talking **** on it. Now pleasee can someone help me on what i should do so that i can beat my friends Evo 9, so far i have innovative turbo, fuel injectors, straight pipe, spark plugs, boost controller, jic magic titanium exhaust. This is only what i have done to the engine, is their anyway i can get enough torque on the rx8 to beat the EVO 9. Please help me on this, and i am very sorry to hurt you guys by saying stuff about the Rx8, but trust me, I love my Rx8.

If you're turbo'd then you shouldn't have too much trouble taking an Evo. Are you running the emanage? If you want even more reliable power go for the new x-intercepter. I'm probaly going to do this if it works well on everyone elses. Get yours tuned and then call you buddy out. Do you know what kinds of times your buddys evo9 runs?

HAHA. No you will not get enough torque to beat the EVO. The EVO may be fast, but when all is said and done, its a giant piece of sheet metal with a fast engine. It's like looking at SRT-4...its still a Neon. The RX-8 has something those cars dont: Class. Its nimble, driveable, and fun. Going really fast from a stop is not fun. Revving your engine to 9000rpm as you carve the curviest of corners while listening to the unique sound of the only rotary engine car...THAT is what makes the 8. If you dont like that and you are deadset on beating your friends EVO, trade your car in for a new Mustang.

right now i haven't dyno'd the car yet because my manifold had cracked, so i had to wait two months to get a new one, now i got innovative turbo, and the guy said it should be 300-330 whp, but i don't believe that, but the thing is this is guy is well known in Fresno Ca, and he has worked on 1000 horse power corvette, supra, 600 hp evo, 520 hp SRT4, and i asked him if 330 will be enough to take down an evo, and he said yesss, but he said it depends on the way you drive.
