juss like everyone is saying, the new gti is faster in the straight. as for handling, 8 wins hands down.
i'll tell you something about my experience with gti. My friend only has a reflash and intake while i have pulley, flywheel, intake, catless midpipe, exhaust, clutch, short shifter. we ran the quarter mile and he beat me by about 1/4 of a car length. I was suprised how fast it is in the staright. but in the curves, i'll leave it in the dust.

Edit: oh ya GTI's are gay, R32's are okay. I test drove one and was happy with the low end torque but felt like a fat guy eating popcorn when I tried too take a corner.
