They're definetly toys, but I cannot imagine being so rich as to throw away 30-60 thousand dollars in one year on depreciation. Especially when you could buy a CS or somthing with that depreciation tacked on at the start and suffer little depreciation on tha car.

If you are worried about the depreciation, you are missing the point. This depreciation is peanuts compared to Lears, Challengers and Hawkers.
And yes, there are plenty of very rich people out there.

You cannot compare airplanes and cars. Cars and cars, airplanes and airplanes. I will never own an airplane, I will own many a car.

What are all you rich folk doing on this forum? I figured you would be out counting all your money or something... jk

Must be neat to own a car like that, but it sure sounds like the costs of ownership are way too high.

Ferrari's are about $1 a mile to run.

$7000 for a 30k service every 3 years or 30k miles,
$3000 for a clutch
$500 for an oil change.

One thing about the Gallardo - when you see it in the flesh, parked innocently in a parking lot among the sheep (regular cars), you NOTICE it! Especially when it's orange.

500 bucks for an oil change ... ouch!

in spanish... Gallardo means "Striking" let me tell you... the thing was striking as hell!
