RX-8 vs. WRX sti vs. EVO

Any opinions? I saw a video of a pro driver doing donuts around a guy on a segway with a wrx sti - pretty amazing driving for a 4 cylinder. But I looked at the WRX threads and someone put up a post that the piston rings on their standard WRX broke; the response was that noone keeps the stock pistons because the rings break ... seems about as reliable as the RX-8.

lets be honest all of these cars are gonna have their fair share of issues, but are all pretty fun to drive. despite its lack of raw power, i still love my 8 - its more fun every time i drive it

omg, hilarity ensues!

So the monsoons just came and the roads are wet. Can someone explain how to do the maneuver at 3:50 of the RX-8 video?

wait ... wtf? I just finished the video and what's up with him recanting at the end? Saying that he drove the car after the recording on a wet road and it was a "twitchy, a bit skittish"? Most of the video is him driving on a wet track!

But the car is skiddish. A Track and a real world driving in the wet is quite different. On a track, there isn't really any sudden changes on the road and there's no cracks or bumps. Also it's much cleaner and the car can grip much better.

As you can see, he's having a shitload of fun, but he's right when the rx8 is a bit twitchy. It's basically because the stock Potenza's suck *** in the rain because it can't distribute it properly, which makes it slightly hover over the water.

But that was a very positive review, go look at Fifth gear's review on the car, Tiff Nedell really didn't like it that much and they enjoyed the 350z much better 0.o

great comment, all i have to say. Anywho, spirograph, I was a bit displeased he recanted at the end, to say the least. Also he blamed the tires - not the car itself, enough said.

oh well, twitchy or no, I still love my 8.

If your into good times and are a decent driver go with an evo
if you want to look like you get good times and are a bro or bro offshoot get a WRX
If you are a rotory fanboy and want to be "different/unique" get a rx8

LOL, but seriously the Evo's and Sti's totally outclass the rx8 in speed on and off the track (in the right hands granted) interior wise they blow compared to the rx8 IMHO. As for driver feel they are not as connected to the driver as the 8 IMO. in the end they really are not side by side comparable. Depends on what one wants vs needs vs can accept/afford vs likes....

time wasted? yes... lol

So what exactly are you asking for? What are your goals with the car? How do you intend to use it? Do you need 4 real doors or not? Do you get snow where you live, etc...
