Seriously the s2000 and 8 are two very good cars that appeal to completely different subsets of people. If I was that in love with convertables I'd get a RX-8 to drive daily and on the track and get something like old Merc. 560SL to cruise around town in when the mood fits.

But that's just me. You're the only one who actually matters in this decision.
hahahaha, wow. that actually made me laugh out loud. that was really funny. i have never seen snow and anything temperature under 60 feels like hypothermia to me. why do i have an rx8?

If he wanted to be original he should have asked if he should get a 350z or an Rx8

Former 04 RX8 owner switching to an 06 S2K. As an extra part time, half daily driver, Objectively I gotta say the S2K, because it's just a more thrilling car overall. The RX8 though is just such a great all around sports car, and for year round daily use, I couldn't see making the switch. If my RX8 was my daily when I owned it, I'd have never replaced it with an S2K, but if the less comfort more raw sports car feel, and of course the unbeatable droptop ability fits your needs, then I think over time you can get used to an S2K. They are VERY reliable, a bit faster, and get several more mpg then the RX8 as well, so that's always a plus. You can't go wrong either way IMO, it just depends on what you want. They each lack what the other has in certain aspects.

but i can fit my girl, your girl and your girls friend in my 8. you cant do that with a s2k.

Well, I can add an extra gal in my Mazdaspeed 6, and after I choose who I want, just take them in my S2K.
