RUF Tribute to 67 Targa
RUF Tribute to 67 Targa

RUF has announced plans to build a modern day version of the iconic 1967 Porsche 911 Targa.
Drawing inspiration from the past, the Roadster features a retro roll bar, a two-piece roof (made from carbon fiber), and a canvas rear section with a three-layer polyglass window.
Power is provided by a six-cylinder boxer engine which produces 294 kW (400 PS /394 hp) or 412 kW (560 PS / 553 hp) in turbo guise. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but a double-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive are optional.
Available next year, the RUF Roadster will be priced from €195,000 ($274,705 USD / £171,210).

That actually looks really friggin cool! Although I fail to see why they only included two crappy pics with the top removed in a press release for a car who's key feature is the removable targa top....

The original Targa had an integral roll bar in the targa band. I don't think this new one will.
It looks as bad as a convertible 911. The 911 reached it's peak of style & design in the early 80's.

I think they need to do something with the front end to make it look a little more retro, other than that though it looks good.
i love the idea, and the tribute, but i don't like the back window being plastic...ruins the look when it's up. if you gotta take a rigid top off, you can take a piece of glass of the back too...
whines all the way home

Thats pretty neat, love how small high end companies like RUF pay tribute to the past, and sometimes forgotten, shows how passionate they are for a particular mark.
