Ah Rod Millen - brings back a lot of memories for me . He was like the god of rallying in NZ

 

AWD rally rx8 would be something to see.

 

That car was actually for sale about 6 months ago down in New Zee

 

That was actually REALLY sex....very awesome races.

An RX8 with AWD would be crap. Heavier and slower.

 

That RX-7's engine sounded Very Special. I betcha the 300 hp number was pretty conservative.

That was still an awesome display of driving and engineering.

 

my engine builder just told me that this car was recently bought from a Japenese guy and imported back to Auckland , New Zealand ....

 

That thing looked just barely stuck to the ground - less so than the competition, but he kept it under control incredibly well. That was some seriously awesome driving.

 

Yeah RE Amemiya sold it too the guy in Auckland, but it was at least a couple years ago.

Always heard about this car, but never believed it, I am a believer now! Very impressive.....

last I saw (and mind you that was several months back) it was sitting there with no motor and looking all beat to hell with a funky blue paint job rotting away next to the guys building.

wow I liked the original better... new one kinda looks trashy

 

same car, it is just RE Amemiya painted and did to it... trying to turn it into a track car instead of off road car it once was.

And now it just rots, with the owner wanting $50K USD for it.

 

it would be nice to buy the car and restore it to its fromer glory.

 

I know that there were a few FC3S and FD3S RX-7s that were used for rallying, in addition to this particular marvel; but I've not heard of anyone doing anything similar with the RX-8. Have any of you?
