Till now we had only seen pictures, then someone finally found this video, so we get to see it in action!

To bad that this car has long since been torn apart

That RX-7's engine sounded Very Special. I betcha the 300 hp number was pretty conservative.

my engine builder just told me that this car was recently bought from a Japenese guy and imported back to Auckland , New Zealand ....

That thing looked just barely stuck to the ground - less so than the competition, but he kept it under control incredibly well. That was some seriously awesome driving.

Yeah RE Amemiya sold it too the guy in Auckland, but it was at least a couple years ago.

last I saw (and mind you that was several months back) it was sitting there with no motor and looking all beat to hell with a funky blue paint job rotting away next to the guys building.

same car, it is just RE Amemiya painted and did to it... trying to turn it into a track car instead of off road car it once was.

And now it just rots, with the owner wanting $50K USD for it.

I know that there were a few FC3S and FD3S RX-7s that were used for rallying, in addition to this particular marvel; but I've not heard of anyone doing anything similar with the RX-8. Have any of you?
