Really like the sound the Racing Beat components give it. Starts out quiet and gets a good deep aggressive sound as you step on it. And now that I have the MAF on it runs nice and smooth, doesn't back fire, and finds idle quickly.
Will hopefully have a video it actually moving up and down my driveway by next weekend, but we'll see.

The bolt was from the differential support. Instead of the 'beam' that ran from the transmission to the diff, I have a mount with a bolt to hold the diff, took the nut off cause I needed it for something else and forgot about it. That's what the clunking was as well, the diff slapping the mount when it got torqued.

My VIN assignment/inspection is monday and it hopefully will only take a few days after that to get it all legal and on the road. Once that is over with I'll get some pictures and hopefully a couple more videos up.

Same thing I wrote on another forum but here it is:
Well I'm all legal and went for my first real drive last night! Definetly the most gratefying experience I've ever had!!
Everything went smoothly. My diy alignment seems to be pretty spot on. The steering is amazing, just the right amount of resistance and incredibaly responsive. The connection with the road was awesome.
I thought bumps would be jarring and that the ride would be rather rough with the 250lbs springs in the front and 180lbs in the back, but it actually feels just right. Nice and firm but they absorb the bumps wonderfully and you barely feel even rather substantial bumps and holes.
Love my seats + belts, surprisingly comfortable and really supportive.
I was expecting it to feel faster, like when you are only going 40 and it feels like 60, kind of like when you are driveing a snowmobile or something. But it is the opposite because of how easily the engine moves the car and how solid the car feels. It takes a rediculously small amount of time and effort for the engine to go from 40 to 80. It's actually hard to keep it going the speed limit because you have to just barely touch the gas pedal to keep it at 55.
I do have a bit of an issue with the automatic transmission though. The entire donor was computer controlled and was tuned very specifically for a 3000lb car, so running in a car half the weight has thrown it off a bit. Luckily it has manual mode and I hooked everything up to run in that mode. When I leave it in full automatic, and just at normal acceleration speeds it will skip from first up to 3rd then quickly to 4th. So you are in 4th gear by the time you hit 25mph which is too much and bogs the engine down, and if you let off the gas actually stalls the engine out. Even when cruising at 55 in 4th the engine speed is only about 1500rpm and if you let of the gas it causes the car to buck a little. Manual mode is very cool though and I would probably drive with it in that all the time anyways. Engine revs to about 8700rpm and in 3rd at 3.5k it's going 55mph so I don't think 4th will get used much.
Got it weighed, final weight, with about 35lbs of gas and 30 lbs of bumpers that will be coming off, was 1660lbs. Which I am happy with because I was aiming for a slightly higher weight than typical. Most of it came from using all steel floor, tranny tunnel, and the large panel behind the seats, as well as the rx8 subframe which weighed about 75lbs.
I started my build because I have always liked going fast and getting the vette really got me wanting more. I loved how the vette felt when accelerating and how it felt going around corners, like it didn't even blink at corners and speeds that other cars would fly off the road at. I wanted more though but couldn't afford the level of performance that I wanted. I am not disapointed, with almost no roll at all, at responsible speeds on public roads at least, it feels like you aren't even going around a corner and what would be unsafe speeds in a normal car. Acceleration is beyond anything I've been in before and it's kind of the same deal, its so smooth and seems effortless that you don't even really feel it and you are going crazy fast in no time.
Gotta have some videos!
Took it for a drive to make sure everything was good, then came back to get the wife.

She got motion sick, shortly after she stopped taking the video, which is really unusual for her. I bought her a full face helmet to protect her from the wind and noise and think that may have contributed as it was the first time she has worn it while actually moving.
I'm going to make a camera mount and make alittle wind sock for the mic. Also just a few more things to do and some finishing touches, like polishing out the scratches on my gauges and adding a mileage reset button, I was planning on putting fenders on it and a hood eventually but I don't know now, I think it makes it looks alittle more aggressive which is kind of the look i was going for. Also need to swap back to my nice LED lights instead of the DOT ones, and change out and move the backup light. Remove the bumpers, wiper arms, and pad on the dash.
Once the mount and sock are taken care of I'll get some more videos up.

Yea I'll get one pushing it once I get the mount made and the wife isn't in the car with me.
Dash is pretty lite up, coolant level sensor isn't hooked up, no o2 sensors, no belt latched switch, abs is disabled, and no gas sender unit. So nothing major, might just hard wire in positive to a couple of those like the belt and gas, might try to get a hold of a coolant sensor.
