Another good article about the Great Dan Gurney

Farewell To Our Hero

I know many of our members are either too young or just had no chance to see him race and appreciate what he accomplished in so many different race series, and as a car designer and engineer. He was unique and no one has come along to match all the things he did. In my opinion, Dan Gurney ,Mario Andretti and AJ Foyt are the most versatile of American motorsport legends. Dan and Mario are the only Americans to have won in Indycars, Formula 1, and NASCAR. And Dan is the only American ever to win in Formula One driving a car of his own design and build..
