Well, I wanted the seat mounted solid so I used seat tracks to mount the controls to so they slide to your foot, im putting the throttle and brake on the right foot plus a rail to put your weight on when braking hard. The plan is to duct the hot air up and over the body. Im going to fab a slidding door in the duct to allow heat to enter the passenger compartment on those cold days. Im putting the clutch on the shifter. Im setting it up that way since i have limited use on my left foot. I think its pretty slick myself.

As you can also see there is about 1.5 ft of crumple zone before you get to the the leg area.

shinka213 12-10-2008 06:24 AM

looking great moon...keep up the good work!!!
:D:

Rotr8 12-10-2008 03:14 PM

I see you tacked mounts for the headlights....
I might move them outward towards the wheel arches alittle more whn I get ahold of it,, I wanna keep that middle area as open as possible for the ducting...

Moon Assad 12-10-2008 03:53 PM

Yeh, we can do that, when I bring you #2 you can finish that off, im just trying to get all the leagalitys on it. The baulbs arnt DOT approved so I need to put the ones out of the streetbike in those housings. Look into flush mount street bike blinkers and running lights and see if you can find a set that works with your intended body lines.

Holy crap, this thing with all its parts - 30 pounds, seats and all scaled in at 550 pounds.

Moon Assad 12-14-2008 04:07 PM

Included wheels, spindles, A-arms, seats, motor, frame, front discs, and what ever else we threw on the scale not including hardwear.

Thanks Greg, can you belive the frame only weighes in at 130 and the motor and rear swing arm is 220. Also props to the VA, we now have internet. Good to see there taking care of the Vets. :)

Moon Assad 12-15-2008 11:17 PM

Ok, got about 1/3 the surface rust off in about 3 hours, looking good in flat black primer. Also got the addapters set up to widden the rack and ready to be tigged. We were trying to figure out how to do the steering, even thought about making it removable but instead we think were going with a setup were you just slide it over to the middle when entering and exiting. It also needs to push foward and aft. Fully adjustable is what im looking for. Any ideas???
