You asked... pls don't take offense...just my 2c...
Nicer looking, the current is very awkward looking IMO. Otherwise I think the whole concept of these blownup stationwagons makes as much sense as a 500hp pickup truck 10' high... why bother ?
Oh yea... make piles of $$$ for the manufacturer by satisfying US peps lust for oversized, overweight, head in the clouds, fuel slogging vehicles.... my thought, people who buy these could rethink their priorities and save a bundle... buy a truck as a truck, a station wagon as itself, a sports car as an extravagance.... two are supposed to be practical, one is not.....unless u got too much $$$ and want to toss it away on these fantasy in metal.

No offense taken...
Just...I have a little trouble understanding your post...
Anyways, yeah I think it might be a step in a better direction...I just don't know if I like the station wagon look. The infiniti FX look never stirred me the right way.
Haha...besides I never bought the Cayenne for its looks. Some people love its looks, and others hate it, but I bought it because I had a necessity for an SUV with a large dog and new house, secondly because my business required an upscale vehicle that could seat five, and third because it was the only SUV that drove the way I like to drive...truthfully...you forget you're driving an SUV and it starts to feel like a sport sedan...It's kinda like a subbie in that way I guess...you buy it for the drive, not the look.
All besides the point though. I like the steps that they're taking to make it more brand uniform, but I'd hold off on trading mine in if it resembles a station wagon as closely as those sketches suggest.
EDIT: I think I get what you're trying to say...instead of trying to have a station wagonesque truck that drives like a sports car buy all three right?
I suppose...I guess I'm almost there...got a sports car for the weekend

I took out my father-in-law's Grand Cherokee SRT8 the other day...and man was I impressed. I knew about the power, but the handling was far better than expected. The only other hi-po SUV that I tried was a 4.8 X5 that was not anywhere near as impressive. The SRT8 would be my top choice if I ever got the SUV craze...which I don't.
I always thought Porsche would dilute its brand image with a SUV developed with VW, which hasn't happened. But I expect it will over the longer term, even though 914's and 924's didn't kill it as it should have.
Also a shame is they never got the diesel V10 in their SUV, which is the gem in the whole offer. Still, as long as they keep the familiar jelly bean shape, it'll still do well as long as SUV's sell.

I've always thought that the current Cayenne's styling is lacking. front end of a 911 married to the back end of a Toureg sort of thing. Can't deside if it wants to be a true SUV or a sportscar. I've always thought that Porsche should have gone in more of the FX45 direction, which I think is an eye catching SUV (and I'm pretty anti-SUV). I think this new styling is right on the money. If I were to buy a Porsche, it would still be the Cayman S though!

Oh and the Cayenne.....I just don't get it. Ugly, expensive, what a wast of Porsche's designers talent.

Aside from all the comments on the car itself, I think Porsche might have some trouble with the Panamera & Cayenne stealing sales from one another, just as the article said. It'll be interesting, for sure.

hmmm for all the cayenne haters...anyone actually driven one? at least the v8 models?
its not a car that gets buyers with its looks...its all about the drive...but...the interior is definitely nothing to complain about.
like I said...I think its like the sti in that way...ugly to most, but once you've experienced it...you start to wonder why it suddenly starts to look pretty darn good. the funnest drive I'd experienced from an suv...although I haven't driven the srt-8...but I think the jeep doesn't cover the luxury point quite as well. I could be wrong though.

I like the sleek new lines.
My brother's Cayenne gets just about the same fuel economy as my 8 . . . I don't think we have much room to talk here!
For the Cayenne haters: have you ever driven one? I don't much care for driving SUV's, but I love driving that Cayenne!
