WTF is that?!?! Is that the new GT car Porsche was working on for the LeMans series?

I think the McLaren just got moved to second in the order of cars I'd fill a giant garage with if I had unlimited funds. What motor?

Wish they went with a flat 10 to keep it a tiny bit traditional Porsche. Still - a 10 cylinder 350...that must sound cool.

I guess the displacement penalty for turbocharging in the class is too rediculous even for Porsche?

Well the engine they used was originally developed for an entry in LeMans. The class it was developed for had the rules changed or was scrapped and the engine was not able to be used. So, instead of wasting it, they put it in the Carrera GT.

Here is what it sounds like if you are interested. There is some other neat stuff on the site too, including a lap around some track.

They did something like that with an aborted Indy engine after the rules were changed on them before they went into effect. I think a variant ended up in the 935's. Maybe the Moby Dick variant?

I'll check out the sound after the song I'm listening to is over.
