I dont know the extent of these problems yet, they could be minor or major dont know yet. But becasue of these problems It looks like we migth have to replace the engine (this is a maybe) Anyone know approx how much it would cost to replace the engine and what type I should put in (stock one or different) Any info is appericated, thanks."

For free, why not? Ypu might have to put $1K+ into the engine to get it running well, but then you'll have something to play with. You can also buy rebuilt engines (like this one) for less than $1K on eBay. A used twin turbo 13B (like this one) can be had for under $1500. This last is the route I'd go, power junky that I am. :D

I say go for it, man!

Ooh, bad place to keep it!

:D

Note also that I found a twin turbo one too, and added it to my original post.

Does it matter that his is one year older than both of the engines in your previous post ?

You'll have to replace the engine if it has had overheating problems. Overheating kills rotaries dead. Also consider: you could dump a lot of time and money into this car and still not have a car that's worth very much. Even with a complete rebuild, changing out all the hoses in the rat's nest, etc. the car would be worth less than $3,000 if the rest of it were gorgeous. $1,500 is more likely.

It might be fun to play with, and could make a cool project car for something like GRM's $2005 challenge, but you'd better be pretty handy with a wrench. Otherwise, it is likely to be more $$ and hassle than it's worth.
