That Busa is sick, too. I ride with a friend who has one. His is stretcher and slammed. That bike is crazy fast, but doesn't corner so hot in the twisties. Any problems with that, Smeldy?

Oh, and TwistedRX, your wife is badass! My girl is going to start riding in the spring. She's looking at the Ninja 250 as a starter bike. It's supposed to be good for that. Hopefully I'll get her knee dragging before summer's over! HAHA. Great pics!
Thanks bro...if your girl is gonna get the saki 250 she should definitly get the 250r...heres a link.

Thanks. No,the 'Busa doesn't handle the way my Superhawk did.BUT it is VERY entertaining in the twisties. The 'Busa is the perfect bike for me,I'm 6'2" and it fits like a glove. The riding postion is not as aggressive as a 600 or liter bike and the seat is VERY comfortable.Plus it gets @45mpg so it has over 200 mile range.
Oh yeah,it's kinda quick too

not to be an *** but but the only 250 in the US market is the 250R it was virtually unchanged from 1986 to 2007 the new redesign is very sporty and has a few more ponies but the over all bike is the same.. even using the same frame off tech that they used before...it really is a great bike just be wary in the long run if she wants to learn to ride more aggressively then be prepared to buy a new bike within a season.. though i will say the baby ninja does hold its value well assuming its never dropped or wrecked..

^Thanks for all the info on the 250! She is looking at the 250R, though I have tried to talk her into a 600 bike. I think the higher CC's scare her, even though I tried to explain the difference in delivery. She knows my bike is crazy quick, and it's a 675. She doesn't quite understand mechanics and power delivery, so it's been an uphill battle. I didn't know the Ninja 250 topped out at 80. That may be enough for her to change her mind. That was some great info on the carb vs FI, Twisted. I guess I never really knew how to put that into words, but experienced it with my first bike, which was a 750CC Katana. Yeah, yeah. It was a starter bike and I only had it for one season. I will look into those other suggestions.

The good news is my recent "incident" didn't scare her away from riding, which is good. I had a lady on a cell phone cut me off on the expressway. She never saw me. No big deal. I had an out and it didn't affect me. Once she realized she cut me off, she panicked and slammed on the brakes. Why? I have no idea. That, however, did affect me as I was doing about 65 MPH. I knew I was going to hit her, so my only out was to change lanes. My mirror was clear, but as I started to move, I checked my blind spot and there was a car there. By the time I looked back forward, I was on her bumper. I hit the brakes, fishtailed a bit, then locked the front tire. ****! I went over the bars and the expressway broke my fall, with my bike landing on top of me. I never hit the lady and by the time I stopped skidding about 50 feet, I looked up and the lady took off. AWESOME! Luckily I wasn't hit by any other cars. I broke my R elbow and L wrist, which required surgery. This happened in the end of September. I got fixed quicker than my bike, which was less than $2,000 in damages. So, be careful out there brothers.

^Sweet mod, right? I'm bionic.

Smeldy...you get 45 MPG on your Busa? That's crazy! Cool to hear about the handling. Maybe I should give more props to my friend's bike, then. I always thought they were straight line beasts and not so hot in the twisties.

Nice CBR, Moon Assad. What year is that thing?

The rockets are really representing. Not many cruisers here, or just none that are posting up?

yeahi agree with the crazy quick.. even a carbed 600 will do a 1/4 in 11.5s easy...its understandable.. if she can get ahold of a 2008 or 2009 250r then get that model... but kawi is only producing about 5000 a year... they underestimated the demand.. lol plus with the new design looking a lot more like a true sport bike then a sport standard...

A common misconception is that the 'Busa is a pig in the twisties. Not true. It's just like any other bike,or car for that matter.More depends on the skill or lack of skill of the rider/driver.
I will say though that the first thing that should be done to a 'Busa is getting rid of those weighty cans.A HUGE difference in handling between stock exhaust and cf cans.
