Porsche's RX-8
The new Panamera is coming out. Check it out here.

The front reminds me of the RX-8, even more so in the 3/4 view. I like this Porsche....

They should build it. It's an RX8 - of course at another level, but same idea about a four seat sportscar.
And yes, one can argue that a M3, a G37, etc. is a sportscar too based on its performance but also its immediate steering and braking feel, response, etc.
But what I love about the 8 is that it feels like a proper sportscar yet it could fit 4 adults comfortably - that feeling of being low to the ground with a tight cockpit and ergonomics, plus to a lesser extent its look. I still think nothing's comparable. Toss in the light feel and perfect balance, it's the only 4 seat sportscar IMO. Unless they build this Porsche, though it may be a bit too bloated, so it may not change anything.

^^^ Well, everyone said the same thing when BMW came with the X5, now those things are selling like hotcakes. Is this car traditional Porsche, no it isn't. Will it sell a bunch, definitely yes. I just had a colleague who's wife made him sell his 02 Carrera 4S for an 5 series because his Porsche couldn't fit the kid well. This car is going to appeal to those who want to haul the fam around and still be able to get that rush on the highway/twisties.
Porsche has been working on a four door for almost 20 years but things have always got in the way, like reccesion, market concerns, etc. Now the time has finally come where all the pieces fit, so we shall see what it comes out like.
No question, and I wouldn't be surprised if the limits are greater than the RX8. But my point is, you can't mask weight. I've been driving my father in laws Charger SRT-8 and it's a great handler, limits likely very close to the 8, but it does not have the reflexes, the transient response, or the feeling that you can catch it when you're really tossing it around. Plus, on a trackday, I'm sure the brakes would fade by lap two.
Obviously the rear spoiler is not done.
We wouldn't be surprised to see it retract into the bodywork and deploy as speeds increase for the production version.

Looks about as good as Mark Hamhill trying to break out of the Luke Skywalker typecast. Porsche should stick to 1 bodystyle, just as the actor should stick to sci-fi.
