What's the deal with that roof spoiler? Not cool, Subaru, not cool.

 

It definitely looks meaner, and I give Subaru credit for making it agressive. I also think it's a bit unattractive, but this has the look of something that can grow on me. Subaru makes love or hate cars when it comes to looks. Believe it or not, many people love the looks of the STI, and will love the looks of this one too. I own an STI, but I judge it's looks based on the fact that is my daily driver commuter/winter car. For a daily commuter, I think it looks damn nice. As a sporty fun car, it looks awful. I don't think you guys can see the car as a regular daily driver that's fast like I can, which is why you think it's ugly. You compare it to rx8, which I think is unfair, but since it's such a performer that costs $$$, many can't help but judge it that way.

 

Not my cup of tea, like I have said before! I like the headlights and thats about it. If I had to choose between the 06 and the 05, I'd take the 05! And thats not saying much!

 

Looks like this will take the lead in the upcoming film, 'The Fast & The Ugly'.

puh-leeeez! When will Subaru figure out that they'll make zillions of $$$ when they put the STi drivetrain into an attractive package?

 

The people that have driven it say it helps stabilize the car in a noticable way. Subaru wouldn't just throw something on there for no reason. There's also a wind tunnel shot with it showing the roof spoiler channeling all the air right at the rear spoiler.

I actually don't hate it so much :p I think if the front grill were redesigned it could look a bit more tasteful. Either way it's still a friggin' kickass car.

 

that new STi has the same 2.5L 300hp 300tq engine as the current STi... romur has it that subaru developed a 3L 6cyclinder boxer that gives out ~380hp but there is so much tourque that the current 6speed gearbox can't handle it....

 

Function over form to say the least! I think the form got shredded though :p
