N/A Rotaries tend to last quite awhile.

Turbo rotaries, different story.

I wouldn't exactly say the interior is garbage, go see for yourself and compare for those who never sat in an Evo. When it comes to the looks of the interior it really comes down to personal preference. The material used in the Evo is actually not much worse than the RX8, both are not all that great comparing to Germans that is.

The Evos' interior is very simple and to the point, everything you need and nothing you don’t just like the design philosophy on the rest of the car.

The RX8s' interior is fashionable and interesting to look at. All the different rotor accents and the 2 tone color. Also follows the design philosophy for the rest of the car.

As for materials used by both, like I mentioned earlier, they are both plasticy.

yeah, I do agree with you on that. The 8 has plenty of plastic in it. Maybe I just like the fact that it actually comes with leather instead of cloth seats.

I own both Subaru (300hp WRX) and Mazda (92 Miata)

WRX STi
Pros:
- It's a street version Rally car with amazing AWD capability.
- $2k in mod will transform it into mid 12s car
- You've got to drive it to believe it. It's one amazing car.
- I bought WRX because of its mod potential and rally heritage not for its look.
- Unbelievable AWD launch 1.6-1.7 60' time
- Strong gearbox - 6spd
Cons:
- Huge rear spoiler and questionable appearance
- Big AWD drivetrain loss

RX8
Pro:
- Elegant interior and refinement
- Perfect weight distribution
- 9krpm redline
- RWD
- "Sports" car
Cons:
- You really have to push the car to extract power out of it. It will wear you out similar to S2000 or RSX Type-S.
- Lack of low-midrange power

When you're ripping through the gears in an STI you won't care how it looks.

My GSR doesn't "wear me out".

I like high RPM power. it has a big advantage as you can use >4:1 FD's and close ratio transmissions.

if you put the 8's or GSR's tranny into something like an Alero or Grand Prix, the car would top out at 120 (redline top gear), and wear itslef out within a year as those motors simply can't handle sustained operation at 4K rpm (80mph in top gear).

This is the only thing I'd disagree with you on- it takes no effort to push the 8- I find myself accidently driving between 5-8k all all the time. And I don't drive the car near as hard as many people on the forum do- this is just everyday driving! Other manuals I've driven, like 325s, SHOs and Boxsters, feel like they're going to start coming apart the closer you get to redline. The 8 doesn't care. This, I think, is one of the greatest advantages the 8 has.

you choose

*rattles in the cold weather????? sorry never experienced that problem...thats what i thought was awesome about this car was the great quality, the first car i've ever owned that has no rattles!
