For once I can see some hope in the new Mustang, but I hate those front lights, rims, and the gosh UGLY tail.

But, I'd rather stick to a car that looks GREAT right out of the box...RX8 anyone...

drifting is a popular sport in japan and getting very popular in america. its a racing sport where yu try to get yur fixed up car going side ways and stay as long as you can. you also try to make as much smoke as yu can with yur tires and mark yur territory with yur thread marks. i don't know why its so entertaining but i guess its because of the twin turbo sound effects and the constant screeching that excites ppl. its not very easy to learn but it can be learned quite quickly through racing schools.

ken gushi is a 18 year old just graduated from a San Gabriel Valley High School in Southern California. freaking crazy.

you can find drifting videos at www.racingflix.com or try checking out www.formuald.com and try searching for d1 grand prix cuz i don't konw the exact website

Isn't DSM Diamond Star Motors, ie the Laser/Talon/Eclipse?

I fail to see how DSM = domestic, especially since the m comes before the s, but ok

here's the garden variety definition based on logical affiliation:

drif~ting (v. newage/retro) a method employed by primarily younger adults licensed to operate motor driven vehicles, to reduce the longevity of tires by 85% to 98%.

Do they count lap times too?? or is the winner determined based on their scores from the judges?

Lap times can count depending on the series. For the most part, however they usually don't, and drift competitions are won as a showman's sport.

its basically fo sho. its not really see who can go the fastest. if its a one on one, the person behind either tries to catch up as close as they can to the person in front, and for the person infront, they try to lose the guy behind as much as possible. at formula D, they see who wins by seeing who the crowd cheers louder. at formula D its kinda lame cuz a lot of ppl can cheer louder for one person the entire time and not cheer for the better person. biased opinions. but at d1 they have pure japanese judges there to judge everything which is good.
