Lightbulb Monaro vs. RX-8

Stats are as follows -

Monaro = 320 bhp/238.7 kW
RX-8 = 250 bhp/ 186 kW

Monaro = 200bhp per tonne
RX-8 = 183bhp per tonne

Monaro = 340 ft lbs torque
RX-8 = 159 ft lbs torque

Monaro = 38 mpg
RX-8 = 23 mpg

Monaro = £25,000 (all options)
RX-8 = £26,000 (Hi-power/satnav)

So why would you want to choose an RX-8

Because only 1 of those 2 goes round corners...

Edit : and my RX-8 is £22,300.

Leather = £1.5k, satnav = £1.2k, total £2.7k - final price = £25,000 tops.

Of course a Mazda goes around corners else they would not be able to sell it in the UK. What about my performance specifications, any comment?

Cars arnt the sum of their stats, thats all I'll say.

I'd rather drive a lotus elise with 118bhp or a caterham with 140bhp than any huge barge.

Comparing a large heavy high power car (which in my mind is nowhere near a sports car) to a small, low weight nimble sports car is pointless.

There completly different cars, build for different purposes. Try pushing the holden round a track (any track) for more than a few hotlaps and watch as the brakes melt..

The only comment I have is 'GET LOST AND DON'T COME BACK' YOUR VIEWS AND OPINIONS ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. GO AND ANNOY SOME OTHER FORUM - It is not your money that is buying each invidual on this forum their 8, if it was then you can say what you like.

I'd have to say i seriously doubt that a monaro achieves 38mpg combined! An 1800 4 pot would be doing pretty well at that!

There are a hundred reasons why we would choose many cars over that sofa with a motor.

I hate myself for rising to this troll. I thought he had been removed?

RX8-Sucks,

One last thing, I totally agree with what contingo posted on the other thread about you - You want the car but can not afford it. You have to sit it out watching what may have been

i'm summising that he doesn't feel as good about his car anymore, now that all the girls love that new Mazda and think his big 'ol brute is old hat and not sexy.

So he comes here to try to give his life some meaning.

Poor guy.

Maybe if you rear hinge some back doors onto it then the girls will like your OLDen again?

If anyone is actually interested, according to Vauxhall the Monaro will start from around £28,500 when it is launched in the spring. And yes it will have the Vauxhall badge on it.

Some good comments there, especially from jimbobjoe, I admit it's a shame about the Vauxhall badge.

Please stop referring to me as "him", I am female, and work as a Telemetry Analyst for a touring car team, that's why I have a Monaro (and it's an excellent car).

Some good comments there, nice to be able to discuss and voice an opinion, and listen to other peoples (except for Edo's, who really should have spent more time at school).

I feel the time I spent at school, and a few years at university have served me well. Certainly given me the ability to recognise a sad person when I see one.

Given that you dislike the the RX8 so much and feel your Holden to be so much more superior, why are you on a Mazda RX8 forum, and why dont you spend your valuable time posting on a Holden forum?

PS. What do you expect on a forum for the RX8? You have a name of rxate sucks, and your only posts have been amature bashing of a car you neither own, no probably have even driven. Grow up.

If the Holden is far superior than the 8, why are the Americans going crazy over the '8' RX8 Sucks?. I recon you were driving down the road the other day, an 8 pulled up alongside you and the crowd were admiring the beauty of the 8 - YOU SAD PATHETIC MAN.

Rexy, It's a woman (apparently), although it could be a man when it is stalking the children in the chat rooms...
