This car is pretty badass. However, I just can't help but think that I would never drop $100,000 dollars on it. It just doesn't offer anything else but performance.

Looks like Chevy didn't like how the GTR is ace-ing their Z06. So what they do? lighten the C6 and slap on a larger blower.
Do we have the beginnings of a US vs. Japan sports car rivalry? :D

The article says it's going to be 200 lbs heavier than the Z06 and have 52/48 weight bias.

that i do agree on, but if I would compare to a GT3 porsche if I were shopping for such a vehicle.

Looks like they ran out of money while designing the interior...

Don't need an interior when passing Ferrari's and Porsche's.

The component list and the numbers look great.

The car itself looks like crappola.

The exposed carbon fiber? It comes off as tacked on rice.

Those stupid looking vents? I don't care if they're functional... theyre ugly.

That color?

The window on the hood? Did some kid in the highschool intern design program come up with that? It's stupid!

The wheels look retarded, the rear "spoiler" looks like it's out of a cracker jack box, and even the ZR1 emblem looks like a kiddie bubble sticker.

Massive failure in the styling department. I'm so disappointed.

The exterior looks really bad, only the engine is good on that car.

and even the GTR has a way better interior than the vette.

Okay, so I found these picture... Maybe I just hate the bluegreen color. This admittedly looks a lot better. Not stupendous, but better.

It's a flux capacitor.

It's so you can drive with the hood up and still see. Very convenient.

sick engine, looks really great too, I am looking forward to reading more about its handling when it comes out.

the current C6 vette have been criticized pretty heavily for its chasis which does not inspire confidence at the limit. This is why slower cars like the Porche 911 turbo and GT-R are able to out gun the Z06 it at Nurburgring. On a track with alot of straight segments, the 2 certainly did not out accelerate the Z06... light weight dosnt necessarily always translate to better performance.

Chevy needs to adjust not just the power for the Corvette to become a leading world class performer.

Did anyone notice the fuel pressure that engine runs at? It has two pressures that the pump runs at depending on load. In "low" pressure mode, fuel pressure is at 3600 psi. In "high" pressure mode, it runs 8650 psi. Wow that's alot for gasoline and the highest I've seen yet for this fuel.

You're on crack!!!! C6 ZO6 criticized for handling? I'd love to know who the "expert" is you're talking to or where you're reading that.

"Out gun" at Nurburgring? What??? ZO6 ran 7:42, the 997 turbo 7:40 and the GT-R 7:38... and a whole slew of "world class" cars behind them. Crack.

Best Motoring/Hot Version hosted by Tsuchyia and that professional Driver that won the GT500 class, I forget hes name. The episode where they tested the C6 vette, Elise and some other cars. They both heavily criticized the C6 chasis talking about how the progression during traction loss when cornering is not linear with that car, which makes it scary to drive fast.

The nervousness in handling near the limit is also documented in several magazines. I said the C6 chasis as a whole, not just the Z06.

throw the Z06 into a corner, and there’s a split-second hesitation between steering input and the chassis obeying your command…a trait that’s been lessened in successive generations of Corvettes, but not entirely eliminated.-road and track

It's uncomfortable, though, with sharp bumps in mid-turn, resulting in steering kickback and a little sideways bobble that saps confidence and throws your rhythm. The same wouldn't happen in a Ferrari F430 or Ford GT, two lofty targets to which the Z06 aspires.
-R&T
Several of us had driven earlier Z06s at other tracks, where we’d been unnerved by at-the-limit high-speed twitchiness. - Car and Driver

im too lazy to look further, but the nervousness of the C6 chasis when driven at the limit has been mentioned by many magazines, with the harshest comment I know of so far coming from Best Motoring.

Its not a big deal for most people, so dont get all mad when the chasis is not at the same level as some of the other world leading competitions. Its still a great car, especially for its price..

and you dont seem to understand why I mentioend the nurburgring time, I just raised it to say that being a lighter car with the most hp, it should have faster times than the 911 turbo and GT-R, but since it dosnt, it says something about its handling relative to the other cars, because those other cars sure didnt beat the Z06 in the straights.
