Qualifying, I missed it. But I have some comments.
1: What allows Vettel (and to a lessor extent Webber) to get such a jump on the competition? The car/driver just can't be that superior.
2: What the hell happened to McLaren? Was it all Hamilton that was making them fast?
3: I guess Massa has got his head straight. Out qualifying Alonso is no small feat. The trainer must have helped.

what a race!
Glad to see alonso managing vettel comfortably.
Glad to see Massa bringing his form from last year's finale.

Where's webber? lol.

Raikkonen is great, i really like his attitude.

It's a good day to be a Kimi fan. What a great race though. I hope to see more of the same for Lotus. Staying up 'til 5 am was definitely worth it.

Yeah, great race! In the beginning of Quali, I was really thinking Nico was goiong to put the hurt on Hamilton. Poor Webber...will that guy EVER get a good start!!!

Did not work out that way in the end, now did it?

Nico could give him a tougher time than Button and definitely Kovalainen but we know Lewis talent is on par with Fernando so I think Lewis will dominate him most of the time as he does all his team mates eventually .

By the way, yes, fantastic race and Ferrari is looking proper. Alonso is a prime candidate for a championship. If Kimi won I'd be happy, if Nando won I'd be happy, Felipe won I'd be happy (Fat chance of that), if Webber won I'd be happy (I don't see him dominating Seb though), if Button won I'd be happy, if Nico won I'd be happy, but:
I AM TIRED OF FINGER BOY WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS!
I like him and he's super skillful but, the boasting with the finger is annoying and generally lame.

Paul.

Raikkonen and Fernando are probably the only 2 realistic alternatives vs finger boy.
Massa might be a nice surprise in the long run though, despite wearing number 4.

...and I don't believe Webber had an ECU problem...he just SUCKS when it comes to the start...and I hate to say it, because I really like Webber and think he's really underrated...he's got to sort his **** when it comes to the start..it's killing him

1. Adrian Newey cars are always the best or close to the best cars. Coupled with vettel's ability to put a blistering lap right out of the gate and voila pole. The RB9 seems to have more trouble with heavier fuel loads. But that'll be fixed soon I think...... Sadly.

2. McLaren built a whole new car. Most other teams evolved last years. So it needs mileage to understand it. Coupled with the fact that Button used to copy Hamilton's setups....

3. Massa just likes this car way better and that gives him confidence.

Malaysia, fp2:
Kimi
Fingerboy
Massa
Nando
Webber.

This is going to get interesting, with Ferrari and Redbull closely matched.
Mclaughlin is where ferrari stood last year. 1.2secs behind the leaders. I don't think they'll pull a fantastic championship like Ferrari did though. There's something strange yet fascinating about italians.
Imho it's a mix of pride and hate for haters. We're considered a shitty country from almost everybody yet we, as individuals, are success-hungry. Yet we have this thing for trying to be at the top of the game despite inferior machinery, technologies etc.

I'm not sure of the European angle on Italy but I think most countries respect yours and consider your technology as good as anywhere else. I believe Italians are a very 'driven' people ("Success-hungry"). Passionate is my best assessment.

Paul.

Yes, we're passionate. That's what really keeps the nation together, while the state miserably fails.
Europe treats us as a third world country, yet every country is eager to buy our technology and professors.

Ok Vettel is a shitty human being. Taking Alonso out like that sucks. I hope he punctures a tyre and hits a wall so hard that the becomes paraplegic.

His pass on alonso was stupid. His move against webber was stupid. His haircut is stupid.
The conclusion is....
Vettel is stupid.

Hammy pitting @ McLaren was awesome though.

Not a Vettel fan then eh?

Although he was high on the nobber factor today. I daresay Webber will be looking for somewhere else to drive next season.

You can't be Italian and like Vettel.
Or Redbull.
Or McLaren.
Or Lotus.
Or anybody else who doesn't dress in menstruation red.

Yep, really has not grown up (if that is the appropriate word) from when he first started, yes he is a good driver and you need a little mongrel ...but this KID needs to be sorted!

But as Webber said he (Vet) is a protected species in team.

Perhaps having Alonso in the same team would teach him what it means to be the second driver...
