Official 2011 Formula 1 Season Discussion
I really enoyed the BBC broadcast (missed the race and downloaded it). In Canada TSN (english) / RDS (french) got the exclusive rights on F1 so SPEED is blacked out and I don't have TSN HD since it requires an outrageous "sport package" with the cable company... BBC > French Canadian clowns
Even if I'm not a DC fan, having a driver who raced in the "new era" on he panel is awesome.

yea, the only thing i didn't really like abt the bbc is eddie jordan's annoyance and stupidity, and brundle's ocassion "oh i used to race with him blah blah blah bullshit" but jake humphrey and dc does a really good job at broadcasting the thingy. oh and i do very much enjoy their "specials" like the senna piece, monaco piece, qualifying comparisons etc.
Mark Webber wrote some pretty good columns on the BBC site.

Last Sunday, you may have seen me give Fernando a lift back to the pits.
It did not strike me at the time but a lot of people said it turned back the clock to when Ayrton Senna hitched a ride on Nigel Mansell'scar after Nige had won the 1991 British Grand Prix.
I saw Fernando had stopped so I pulled up beside him and tapped on my side-pod to see if he wanted a lift. He gave me the thumbs up.
I was pretty keen for him to get out of his car and hop on mine quickly as I was keeping an eye on the car's temperatures. We conducted all of this in sign language but there was no miscommunication!
Highly doubt it lol

I don't think so. If there was any animosity out there, it's more likely to be between teammates arguing and complaining about how recourses are divided.
Vettel must be shitting his pants now. We all know Mclaren's Race Pace is strong. And this circuit was "supposed" to be dominated by Red Bull cars which are good at high downforce tracks. Adrian Newey, in his mind, must be going like... WTF is going on?! lol Oh it's gonna be a good show tmr.
Great ending, too bad that Domenicali is as smart as a stone when it comes to pit stop strategies.
Alonso drove an excellent race on his own, finishing 3rd after 2 spins was awesome.
Button really deserved the win, Vettel showed that he can pass and finish well despite what Christianv says:
Hamilton was by far the best driver this time (after Nando, of course).

He keeps chosing the wrong pit strategies. It's been like that for years!
Alonso pitted 5 times, once just to do a few laps on super-softs, to then switch to the primes. A pit stop was around 20-22 secs... He finished 18secs behind Button.
The primes were also faster than the options for some reason after a while...
Go figure.

He is reacting to what Red Bull & McLaren are doing rather than trying to analyze what would be best on his own. Following what the others are doing is not necessarily the wrong thing to do, unless they are making a mistake in calling their driver in at the wrong time.

I disagree re: Vettel. He managed to get past Alonso on the DRS zone. Looked a bit like Alonso was napping. You don't see him get out braked very often. Getting past an inferior car does not a racer make. I see him as a great driver, just not a racer. Look at the bright side - at least he didn't need his pit crew to do the passing for him this time.
I'll see your Domenically and raise you a Whitmarsh. Once again McLaren proves they're their own worst enemy. This was Hamilton's race to lose and they lost it for him by making stupid calls. At least there was a McLaren on the podium, but they pissed away a 1-2 result.

That would be the case if I weren't just playing with my local slang
Who will take the edge after the summer break?
Ferrari is the one having less to lose so I guess they'll risk.
McLaren will stay on track with their development and RedBull must be wise, just tuning their cars even further.
Vettel still has the edge in the championship but 2 DNF and 1 4th place would seriously harm is plans...
