Official 2011 Formula 1 Season Discussion
Mid August for most of the US. I saw something on that yesterday.
The atmosphere was right for watching TV from other near by cities yesterday. I was watching a PBS station that was showing the 1961 GP season. It included some of the sports car races that the drivers also competed in. For the Italian GP at Monsa, they were using the old complete track that included the wall section.

Because it was the whole season, each race had only a couple minutes of coverage. There was only a couple of quick shots of the Monza Wall. Nothing like the movie Grand Prix (I just got that in BluRay).
SWEEEEET!!!! Did they remaster the sound?? I bet it looks awesome. That's one of those movies where I would just put the tv out on the deck, fire up the grill, cook, have a few beers and watch the movie all damn day!!! That one and Pappion(sp?)...that's another good "all dayer" LOL. OH, I heard Ron Howard was in the beginning stages of doing a movie about the Hunt vs. Lauda....aught to be good!!!.

That movie is over 3 hrs long and I haven't dedicated the time to watch it again. It was filmed in 70mm format (just like LeMans in which I also got in BluRay) so it should be theater quality. I'd love to see it on a IMAX screen and sound system.
The race will be fantastic tomorrow in Germany (Nurburgring). The front row is Webber on pole with Hamilton in P2 (Who would have thought?).
Here are their laps for comparison:

Great race. Hamilton extracted all that could be had from a chassis that still lags behind the Red Bulls. Webber and Alonso drove masterfully as well. Massa put up a good fight against Button, who was unfortunate to have the hydraulic failure DNF. The slightly damp track did increase the excitement as well. Vettel did not shine.

Did he? I thought that was more like a trip to the artificial grass. He lost it cuz he was caught dozing off after passing Webber and Hamilton at the pitstop. Anyhow Hamilton had the pace, he probably would have passed Alonso again using DRS and KERS anyway, but we'd never know.

I thought this was pretty hilarious though, he was lucky he didn't get both Webber and himself both disqualified.

I thought I remember that Alonso put a tire on the white line or into the wet grass and did a quick spin off track onto one of the off track tarmac areas.

I deleted it off the DVR. I'll catch it again when Speed broadcasts the repeat.
BTW, Heinfeld is out. Senna will be replacing him for Hungary.

Yes that is the case. He will be taking over the car for 1st practice on friday.
There was only one article out at the time I was scanning the headlines and the title at that time wasn't specific. I didn't dig any deeper.
