awesome race, good to see webber doing well at his age. as for ruben, i think brawn done that to him on purpose. since they want jenson to have may points as possiable. but that is just my crazy thoughts. as for hamilton, i think he is back, and will be in the top 5 next race.

Too bad Hamilton got his rear tire clipped by Webber. Otherwise he could have been up there fighting.

Quite a chaotic start with Webber first bouncing into Barichello and then on the rebound slicing Hamiltons tire open.

But agreed alfy, the McLaren seems to be back and I think it will be very interesting next race if they have parts for both cars.

i just got done reading that also. guess explains why hamilton couldnt stop in time for turn 1. one thing about hamilton, if he is in the top 5, he will fight his way to top 3 and very good at it. so i feel next race if things dont f up, he will be on the podium. glad mcalren got the diffuser set and front wing.

also grats to masa , he deserve it (yes i said it ferrari fans, doesnt mean i like ferrari ). wished kimi would of finish the race. but i dont blame him, its typical for ferrari not finishing the race. also alonso must of felt really embarrased for the little 180 he did while warming up his tire. makes me wonder what polo see's in him. lol i bet polo wetted his pants.

also i guess ferrari must be throwing in the towel for 09 car. which probably explains why kimi didnt finish the race LMAO . but to be honest, i think alot of teams are heading that direction.

Ferrari is on the cusp of simply abandoning the F60 car in favour of focusing exclusively on next year's project, it was reported on Monday.

Italy's ANSA news agency said that even though Felipe Massa secured a rare podium spot with the 2009 car at the Nurburgring, its ongoing development is on the verge of being scrapped entirely.

Team boss Stefano Domenicali is reportedly alarmed that despite efforts to improve the car, its competitors are making "giant steps" in comparison.

"This is especially the case with Red Bull which has made extraordinary progress and can now make a serious title bid," he is quoted as saying.

"But significant progress has also been made by Toyota, Renault, McLaren and Force India, our chief rivals for third place in the constructors' championship," Domenicali added.

Ferrari trails Toyota in the constructors' standings by 2.5 points but Domenicali indicated the more important consideration may be in regards to the 2010 campaign.

"It is no secret to anyone that we are going to have to take a long, hard look at where we are and where we want to go," the Italian admitted.

"The car's performance this weekend varied too greatly and its limits, especially in regard to grip, were all to evident."

http://www.worldcarfans.com/10907132...wn-quit-threat

Even after a shower and a post-race debrief, Rubens Barrichello was still unhappy with his F1 employer Brawn GP as he left the Nurburgring.

Having suspected favouritism towards Jenson Button at Barcelona earlier this year, the 37-year-old Brazilian threatened to quit.

He repeated the warning in Germany.

"At the end of the day I can quit at the end of the year if I want to but now I want to get on with racing," Barrichello said.

Team boss Ross Brawn told reporters after the race that Rubens' good relationship with the Brackley outfit would not be ruined due to a frustrated outburst.

"I want to understand the whole picture, what he thought, what he said and we will then deal with it internally," Brawn said.

But Barrichello refused to retract his claim that it was team incompetence that caused his problems during the race, and said Brawn officials had "apologised for that".

"I have spoken to the team and the view is quite the same," he added.

"It's not my intention to get into a fight with the team as I want to win the championship, so now I need to put my head down and work."

i like webber, but to think he didnt deserve the pentalty is funny. he better be happy that and poked a whole in hamiltons tire and won the race. because if he didnt, i think we would of seen hamiton a Number 1. especially with hamilton having nothing to lose at this moment.

Webber thinks collision penalty 'harsh'
July 12, 2009 11:57 PM
Nurburgring winner Mark Webber on Sunday said he believes his penalty for "causing a collision" before the first corner was not deserved.

Stewards ordered the Australian, who nonetheless went on to win the German grand prix, to drive through the pitlane after they deemed he unnecessarily crashed into the sidepod of Rubens Barrichello.

Some commentators agreed that the 32-year-old's driving seemed overly aggressive, but Webber said he thought the penalty "was a little bit harsh".

"It is not really my style," he added, arguing that he was not aware the Brawn was alongside when he jinked to the right.

"I moved across and then what made it worse was that I shitted myself and came back across again and I thought 'my God, there he is'," Webber explained.

"That's what made it look maybe a little bit worse than it was," said the Red Bull driver, who also tapped and punctured the rear tyre of Lewis Hamilton's car at the first corner.

Webber said he was "shattered" when he heard about the penalty and nearly incurred another penalty for speeding in the pitlane "as I was quite frustrated".

"In the end it turned out okay but it could have been a different story," he added

I'm a little disappointed for Rubens. I don't know why he keeps getting the shaft. I know Brawn said that he was simply 'too slow' to make the strategy work. He is fast, but he almost always ends up behind Button. His fuel rig failed, so that contributed to the cause. I just feel pity for the guy.

Yeah but the guy is not aggressive enough when passing. He ended up behind Button because he never passed Massa (Or was it Kubica?) when he should have. He had a faster car and softer tires and just hung out behind him. If he had passed Massa earlier in the race he would have been in front of Button at the end.

I respect Reuben's ability but he consistently has a problem taking positions on the track. I think if he wants to move up he should focus on a fewer stop strategy like Rosberg did this week.

i agree. i feel the reason why he gets shaftted is
1. he is old (think he is like 37-38) so his f1 career is probably close to an end. so i feel that brawn doesnt want to invest that much in him. just enough to have good constructor point.

but like i said, that is just me. i really think the refueling was done on purpose. i can understand if it was ferrari (last year inncident with masa), but this is brawn team. they hardly ever make any mistakes, and when they do make mistakes, its ruben who gets shafted. every mistake that happend with brawn, ruben finds him self behind Button. i like both drivers alot, but its pretty obvious who brawn wants to win the championship. i dotn think ppl see a pattern here.

unlike Hamilton and Alonso. alsono felt that mclaren was showing favorites towards hamitlon. but it was pretty obvious they werent. its just hamitlon out drove alonso, and alonso needed someone to blame for that.

Massa was running KERS. It wasn't just Rubens having issues getting around him, either. Massa was holding up Vettel, too. The KERS cars have a huge advantage on the straights.

Was he? Yeah that will make the difference. I saw the Mclaren's were but I thought Ferrari pulled their units. (Insert Alfy comment here.

I think we'll see a lot more cars with KERS next year as it's proving to allow slower cars to maintain their positions.

(Insert Alfy Comment here - i think i contracted the ferrari assuming plague . because like ferrari always assuming , such as ferrari assuming that massa made it thru q1 couple races ago. only to find out that masa got kicked out of q1. also like to add that ferrari thought kimi made it i thru q1 couple races ago, and got kicked out of q1 also. i . btw alfy is the king and hamilton ftw )

i am by no means a Ferrari fanboi any more than I am a Mclaren fanboi.

I am however begining to think that all the F1 drama is made up to keep viewers interested. Like pro wrestling.

I wanna see Flavio and Eccelstone in a steel cage grudge match!!

on paper, kers seemed like a really cool idea. i forgot what car company is going to use it in their future cars. but as for F1, all that weight and a chance of fire isnt worth it. maybe if all the kinks where worked out , culd of been something amazing.

but yah must been a idea that max and bernie came up wtih. only them 2 can come up with something so stupid.

HAHAHAH...no DOUBT. But I think the main problem with KERS is it's power output. I think it only gives 80bhp...BUT with the weight of the system, that boost kind of gets canceled out...I remember reading that if it produced about 120bhp or so, it would be more beneficial to run the system. Just thought of something...wouldn't it be a trip if somebody started offering a KERS system as an alternative to turbo or supercharger..wonder how that would pan out????

Agreed I would not want to deal with a car that could kill a mechanic if they touched it while the battery was still charged up.

That and I believe it was screwing up the handling of the car under braking. I thought I read drivers mention that when the KERS would get fully charged it would disengage from the braking causing a change in how much braking power was being applied and upset the car. which is bad in these, already tail happy, cars this year.

Actually, it would be a great way to get a standard gasoline engine car up to cruising speed. The acceleration is what kills your gas mileage.

That's not really true. Yes it's a heavy system relatively speaking but the teams all still have cars under weight and add ballast to bring the car up to minimum weight. The weight issue is it's hung out on the tail and it's not where they would like to have the weight and it screws up the handling.

80hp is about a 10% increase which is significant as demonstrated by Hamilton and Kovelinen at yesterdays start where the screamed around the Brawns.

Massa also gained a few spots at the start. But, the KERS system isn't allowed to be used at the start of the race. It wouldn't have helped McLaren or Ferarri at the start.

According to the commentary on speed it's allowed once they reach 60mph or somewhere there abouts and is charged at the begining. You can see it in action on the reply of the start. So yes they can't use it at launch but once they're past 60mph they can engage warp drive and pick up a couple of spots if they see daylight.

WHAT?? WTF?? You DID NOT just say this, did you? I hope I am reading this wrong... THEY WERE PLAYING FAVORITES WITH HAMILTON!!! Common... Ron Dennis NEVER got along with latin drivers... that is just the way it is... call him racist pig or whatever but he could not stand for people speaking out and telling him in the face the way it is... unlike Hamilton that "follows" his orders and says nothing...

Maybe the "get me out of the car... please get me out of the car... buahhh buahhh I am losing...let's save the engine for next race...buah buah..." attitude of Hamilton in the last race is better suited for McLaren anyways... What LOSER!!! Fight like a MAN... til the end.... like all the other drivers do.

On the other hand, I am happy for Webber and I am ecstatic to see Massa ( A FERRARI!!) in the podium!!

Barrichello will always be jinxed regardless what he does....and I feel bad for him but I think it's time to inject new blood to the sport...
