I don't know if Anthony Davidson have a binding contract for commenting on BBC's F1 coverage, but I think he and possibly Takuma Sato would both be excellent candidates for Nelson's seat.

I don't know if you guys could remember a few years back when Honda was actually contending to win the manufacturer's championship, but Anthony Davidson would often top the time sheet on Friday's/Saturday's practice when he was the reserve/test driver for Honda.

[I]Kimi Raikkonen bit back at his former McLaren teammate David Coulthard on Friday, after the retired Scot questioned the Ferrari driver's car development abilities.
Amid Ferrari's current slump, 38-year-old Coulthard suggested the Italian team would do better to dump the 2007 world champion and instead hire Fernando Alonso.
"The Finn has never shown me he can lead a car's development," Coulthard, now Red Bull's reserve driver and a pundit for British TV, wrote in a column.
To the Finnish broadcaster MTV3 in Bahrain, 29-year-old Raikkonen responded: "I don't know any driver who develops the cars.
"I think it's pretty funny to hear comments like those from people who never really achieved anything. It's none of my business, what a guy," the Finn added.
Martin Whitmarsh, boss of the McLaren team, also contradicted Coulthard's comments.
"The fact is, he is very sensitive to what makes a car quicker and is very intelligent -- he just doesn't always give it all away," said the Briton, referring to Raikkonen, who raced for the Mercedes-powered team between 2002 and 2006.
"Based on my experience of when he was here he was a very committed development driver. When he spoke those few words they were always very valuable," Whitmarsh added.[/I]

Too much Street Fighter 4 lately eh?
I got my *** whooped in SF4 so badly last weekend by a friend that I started sulking and went back to practice time attacks in Forza Motorsport 2 instead.
I just have to accept that I suck at fighting games. I'm only good at driving and first person shooters.

I got my *** whooped in SF4 so badly last weekend by a friend that I started sulking and went back to practice time attacks in Forza Motorsport 2 instead.
I just have to accept that I suck at fighting games. I'm only good at driving and first person shooters.

Looks like BMW is going for a one stopper with a 700kg car.
Vettel looks to be in a good position if Trulli cannot pull away enough before first pitstop. Glock will have to pit even earlier than Trulli so I'm almost certain Vettel will catch him.
The question is what Hamilton can do from P5 with KERS. I think he will pass Button on the first lap due to the long uphill where the KERS really come into play. Will he be able to pass Vettel, maybe. If so he really screws up Vettel's Toyota hunt.

RedBull might pick up Mercedes engine for 2010
Christian Horner has refused to rule out the possibility of Red Bull switching customer engine suppliers at the end of the 2009 season.
The Milton Keynes based team's Renault contract runs out this year, and reports have indicated a switch to Mercedes-Benz is a possibility for 2010 and beyond.
Team boss Horner, however, told Germany's Sport Bild that Red Bull is happy with Renault, after the French marque was allowed to catch up its more powerful rivals over the winter amid the engine freeze.
"For the moment it is my belief that Dietrich Mateschitz does not intend to negotiate with a new engine partner," the Briton said. "Fortunately we have time."
But Horner does not totally rule out a switch.
"In these times, who knows what engine manufacturers are still going to be there in 2010?" he pointed out.
"Ross Brawn has proved that it is possible to have a very good car even with a very new engine partner. In this case Mercedes is attractive, not only because of the engine."
Horner said Mercedes' KERS system might also be of interest to Red Bull.
"It seems to be the best system in the field," he acknowledged. "It's compact and has no negative effect on the car balance, which is really the fundamental problem of (other makers') KERS (systems)."
As well as McLaren, Mercedes-Benz already supplies the Force India and Brawn teams

The liegate scandal that had been threatening to overshadow the F1 season has come to an end with Martin Whitmarsh and McLaren counting their lucky stars. A number of different punishments had been rumoured to be heading McLaren's way, but the British team has been left effectively unpunished with a suspended three-race ban.
McLaren pleaded guilty to all five counts of breaching the International Sporting Code that were brought against them. All were in relation to McLaren Race Director Dave Ryan and current Drivers' World Champion Lewis Hamilton deliberately misleading stewards at the end of the Melbourne Grand Prix over a safety car issue involving Jarno Trulli.
Towards the end of the season opener, the Toyota driver overtook Hamilton whilst under the safety car to retake the position he lost after veering off the circuit, a move deemed illegal. But McLaren failed to state Hamilton deliberately slowed down to allow Trulli to pass following orders from the McLaren garage.
Since the incident, McLaren has made moves to appease the situation with the sacking of Dave Ryan and a grovelling public apology from Lewis Hamilton.
McLaren team principle Martin Whitmarsh chose to attend the hearing with the World Motor Sports Council in Paris alone. Whitmarsh emerged from that meeting, telling reporters, "I hope that this will draw a line and we can carry on with racing".

This is a total joke..it's a slap on the wrist..they broke the rules and only got a warning???..how is this a suspension...this happens all the time in F1, remember when your parents used to tell you not to do stuff or you'll be grounded.....don't worry they'll break the rules again and F1 will do nothing about it..thanks to the amazing appeal process in place

Well, they were already disqualified in the Australian race. Further dragging it out was just pointless. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion.
The simple thing would have been.
1. Incident happens.
2. Punishment is dished out (disqualification)
3. Case closed
Now there are a lot of hyenas out there hungry for blood and fortunately they were not sated this time, as FIA decided that one punishment was enough.

+1 they were punished for their actions appropriately. You lie about the race you get disqualified. The punishment fit the crime in MHO. Disqualifying them from future races is just being punitive and excessive. Now if it were something like 2 years ago where they stole Ferrari's designs that's a bigger deal. In that case they were fined heavily and disqualified for the season. Again. that seemed appropriate.
So all in all They made the right call.

Just like a few other folks here, I tend to be biased to one team, even if that team is not doing well. But I can't justify when 2 people get caught lying (even if Hamilton says "he told me to say this buah buah") yet only one gets penalized.
Life ain't fair... heck Schmu got away with even worse things... but he was loyal to his team.
You and I disagree and I respect that, so let's leave it at that. I am still waiting for Alfy to chime in
The season just got better.
