He is always so willing to be interviewed. I think thats why they go to him. The other teams are too focused for a pre-race interview.

I've got the live timing up on the other monitor from www.F1.com

Spoiler, spoiler, spoiler alert

Awesome race. i laughed so hard when kubi and vettel crashed. i do feel sorry for vettel though, but still funny. Grats to the winning team. also hamilton did awesome from starting 18th and finish 4th in a very slow car. guess that should shut the hamilton haters who think he cant drive.

But wow Truli starting from last making 3rd. awesome job

What a great opening race. I bet we see some diffuser modifications before Malaysia!

I doubt we can see the new diffusers so early. Red Bull stated that they could deploy a new diffuser in beginning may. Its just one week to Malaysia and it is frankly not enough time. You might do more harm than help with such a rushed design.

I am also negative towards that diffuser design and hope the appeal will fall through and the diffusers will be banned. Those diffusers are causing a lot more turbulence behind the car, killing the purpose of the smaller rear wing and wider front wing making it harder to pass.

We got to see a lot of exciting passing and fun racing today. If the diffusers keep being developed we can wave goodbye to these exciting races and look to the previous seasons to see how it will look.

The appeal of the ruling that allows the diffusers won't be heard until after Malaysia. So, I agree with PerSmitt. Barrichello said that he was able to keep his pace, even with a broken diffuser. He said it was broken in the 1st lap/ 1st turn incident.

What happened to ferrari?
i was going back home from an away game and missed the race.
Hamilton, for what i read, did a great race and i'm happy to see him growing. Expert drivers make this sport interesting after all!

Looks like Trulli got penalized for passing under the yellow/Safety Car conditions ... everyone moves up a spot. Trulli ended up in 12th after a 25 sec. penalty

Kimi Raikkonen was classified sixteenth, after retiring on lap 55 with a differential problem, while Felipe Massa stopped in the pits on lap 45, with a broken left front nose support. (from motorsport.com)

Trulli dismayed by lost podium
http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.a...45394&PO=45394

Jarno Trulli was crestfallen after race stewards stripped him of his podium finish in Melbourne.

The Italian and his team-mate Timo Glock both put in charging drives from the pit lane after being excluded from the qualifying results, taking advantage of an incident-packed race to move up to third and fifth respectively.

Trulli was subsequently relegated to 12th for overtaking Lewis Hamilton under the safety car in the race’s closing stages – a decision the team has appealed.

The Italian claimed he only passed Hamilton because the McLaren appeared to be slowing with a problem.
.............Trulli’s penalty ironically benefited team-mate Glock, who inherited fourth place, but the German’s main source of satisfaction was the race pace of the TF109.

Had the diffuser been thoroughly destroyed the car would have been undrivable, at least in those speeds (competetive speeds). No matter how good the rest of the car is, all components are balanced against the other components.

If the expected downforce were to vanish in the back the front wing would harm instead of help since it would give the entire car an angle. My belief is that the diffuser worked at least to 50% or more, no matter what Barrichello thought about it.

Barrichello was also commending the car for structural integrity the second before. He was saying despite the pummeling it did not break. And the next second he said the diffuser was crashed. It does not add up to me...

I wake up to see Trulli lost 3rd :P
Hamilton is a great driver but I liked the podium as it was. I would have liked it more with Vettel or Kubica up there in 3rd.

i dont know about if he really passsed vettel. . i felt that Kubica closed the door way to earlier on vettel. it reminds me of the whole Massa vs Bordai incident last year. to be honest, i dont care for vettel. i prefer kubica but watching the replays, it seems kubica was at fault. because there was no where on vettel could go to. he (vettel) can either break hard and wipe out, or hit the grass and wipe out etc. to me, kubica could of used the whole left part of the track and then closed the door right before the next apex. but that is just my opinion.

plus vettel front left tire hit kubica side (basicaly right behind his front wheel) so i dotn know if you want to call that a pass. to me, kubica was side to side with vettel ( just a little bitt in the lead, but not truly passed vettel.)

Vettel has had penalties assessed for that incident. He will be starting farther back on the grid at the next race. That has been appealed.
I thought it was Kubica's fault too. But mostly, just close racing.

10 spots back and a $50,000 penalty for driving with a damaged car.
They should have black flagged him so he wouldn't have kept going.
