Mid Ohio and NJ are the 2 that I am more likely to be at. Mid Ohio being very close to my sister's, NJ being a reasonable distance (to me , ~5 hours away)

I'm largely indifferent to if it does or not, won't change anything in GT either way. DP is...meh...

Okay, I watched most of the race and I saw #70's right rear tire blow and tear up the quarter panel but when I watched the next morning the whole right rear side was gone! What happened? did anyone see what went down? That's my team damnit!!!

When I saw Patrick Dempsey enter the GT race scene, I thought it was a joke. It wasn't, and Mr mcdreamy is sure proving his worthiness. Congrats to the team I seem to follow more and more.

here is the link to the Mazdaspeed Motorsports facebook page. They have kept me up to date during the Rolex 24 race. Lots of great updates on the page:

Same applies to the Mazda page:

Most likely just the air as it moved by the car just slowly broke way more pieces over night.

At the end the 70 looked like it had just finished the 24 hour of LeMons. Whatever weight loss they had from the loss of bodywork looked like it was equaled by the addition of duct tape.

According to this it was nothing beyond the rear tire blowing. I don't think I saw any other incidents and I watched most of the race at normal speed.

The no.70 Speedsource Mazda – another front running car – was another to pucture a right-rear tyre, the rubber destroying much of that corner of the car. it did finish, though devoid of most bodywork behind the passenger door.
Great racing by Mazda. Looks like the increase in Porsche and Chevy sponsorship might have tilted the manufacturing away from Mazda this year but it's hard to complain too much after last year's run. Great to see Dempseys boys catch the breaks they needed to get on the podium.

Anyway, I am proud of all the Mazda teams for showing well at Homestead.
Congrats to Emil, Jeff and the 69 boys on a great stick & run to the podium!

Where are we going again? My GA history isn't as complete.

Everyone is getting a lower capacity. I see more splash and dashes happening, but like the article said, this doesn't change minimum weights or anything because the cars are weighed without fuel.
