It probably won't be necessary, there are rumors that Porsche is pulling out of GA and concentrating in ALMS, in the GT2 category and the GT-Challenge class. Fat meat there for Porsche as they can probably sell a lot of race prep-ed GT3s there. They will go out with a first place finish in team, driver and constructor this year anyways. Next year should be Mazda's year.

RX-8s qualified 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th at Montreal. Should be a very interesting race, I love watching this race since it is a F1 track. All of the RX-8s are very fast(They can all match the #70's race pace, which is very very good), hopefully we will get a podium sweep this time as the track should suit the 8.

Race is 2pm on SpeedTV guys.

I had gotten so excited 70 was leading 30 was doing amazing and 69 and 40 were going strong. then....

the rain fell. and it was as if a bomb went off in the mazda corner.

I nearly cried when tremblay wrecked. it was like domino's

it was a great exciting race. the rain made it so intense. but it is a race I hope to forget.

Can we just chalk that one off as a ultra-expensive demolition derby?
It became funny after the Porsches started crashing...
Congrats go out to the 69 team for making the podium again!!

70 is just snakebitten this year. Seems like half their incidents have occurred when they were in the lead.

Anyone else catch one of the Pontiac teams talking about being part of the Camaro program for next year? Looks like nothing is official but that's the route GM is going to go. With Camaros coming in, hopefully the BMW team going all in next year, this could become a much more interesting race series. Never really understood why Pontiacs were out there to begin with. Seems like there were better platforms to be pushed to compete with Porsche and Mazda for race car enthusiasts.

Wonder if Ford will get tempted back in if Chevy's are going to be featured more prominently.

the G6 is a FWD car too! But then these cars are all prep 2 tube framed race cars.
The BMW M6 is a reskined pontiac G6 GXP, of course with a new engine as well.

The Camaro is going to be in Grand Am Koni Challenge for sure, GS class I believe

I would love to have your club come out to display your cars and for the clubs that bring 25+ cars to the event, on Sunday October 11th they will have an opportunity to do some parade laps around the oval track and the road course at speeds of 70 – 80 mph. The other option would be registering prior to September 15th deadline to have that opportunity.

Please call me or e-mail me with any questions you may have regarding this event. It would be great exposure for your club and also for full day of activities surrounding the show. If you would like me to come out to any of your meets to speak personally with your members I would be more than happy to.

Thank you again for your time.

At least the Racer's Edge RX-8 was off track on the first lap. Plenty of time to come back and get in the mix.

Looking good so far....

huh, so 3 more RX-8s next season? The 2 corvettes changing, plus Dempsy adding 1 more? I knew about the vettes swapping to 8s, but didn't know about Dempsy. Sounds good to me.

LOL, #40 ran into #70 AGAIN!

They were drifting side by side thru the corner, looked pretty badass... They should mail the clip to the producer of Fast and Furious for their next drift movie
