Offical Grand-Am GT RX-8 Thread
just noticed this thread. been watching the race since the start...well, i went to the movies an hour before speed stopped showing last night, but woke up early to watch the last several hours. what a race. i usualy watch 24hrs of lemans, but now im hooked on 24hrs of daytona....too bad about the 8s luck. and yeah, i agree, i wish they were up at the front so we could have a win, but also so we could see more of the onboard view. the 70 car sounds amazing. also, they were showing a side view for a while where you could see every shift or every time he let off the throttle it was flaming. awesome. did anyone see what happened with the racers edge team? why did they need to replace the windshield? also, i just saw an incar view of there car...are the GT cars all running sequential boxes too?
as for DP, some very interesting stuff happening there, but GT of course is way cooler. still, very interesting stuff. the fords are having some troubles it seems. also, i love seeing the speed of the service on these cars. last night when the gainsco team needed a new gearbox it took them like 5 mins to pull the bodywork off and swap it out. very cool

I am still pissed witht he incident with the porch on cold tires vs the 69 rx8. how can the driver of the porche race his way thru the track, passes up the 69 car and all of sudden remembers he is on cold tires and decided to hit the brakes half way down the straight.
i bet porshce wanted to take out the 1 other main mazda out early, so they have a better chance of winning the race. i mean how many drivers race thru the track with colds on any ways? they usually take it easy for 3-5laps.
and also crossing fingers for Suntrust. i hope they win the overall
