Oddball engine designs

I was cleaning out some old car magazines and found this Jan 1994 C&D article on ten weird engine designs, three of which are variations on the rotary. Thought some might find it interesting!

(Hmmm, what was I doing 13 years ago...)

There all kinds of odd engines that were never R&D. One site has about 20 types of rotary engines.

With the new push on fuel conservation and alternate fuels there may be room (funding) for more engine R&D -

One super big jump will be from electron dependent systems to the proton driven systems, such as are used in living biological organisms - the hi torque, fully reversable engines found in the flagella of bacteria is an example of this - some are even solar powered.

My favorite new oddball engine. Would be a wonderful thing, provided they ever get one into a production mode....

That MYT is insane! Check the horsepower numbers:

Advertised hp (KW): 850(634) NA, 3,000 (2,238) SC/TC.

3000 hp when turboed or supercharged!! I want one of those in my 8!

I think it's a cool concept but I really want to reserve judgement until they actually run one on more than compressed air. According to their site they haven't run it on gasoline or diesel fuel yet although they claim it can run on both which would be cool. If you can get that much power out of a small package like that, image how hot it must get! I'd be really curious to see if it actually gets the high mileage numbers they think it will. This would be a wonderful engine to use as an apu generator running electric motors in a series hybrid fashion. Imagine good performance and over 200 mpg. that could be pretty cool. Then again, before we get too carried away, let's actually see one run first.

For sure. I hope it really does work. Ill bet quite a few people said the same thing about the rotary before it was actually running on gas also. Then again, we've been hoping for that factory FI 8 for a long time now too

Don't exspect to see it anytime soon...

Angel Labs, LLC is not publicly traded
Recently, we have received many emails inquiring about investing in Angel Labs, LLC. Some have said that their stock broker quotes $1.50 for our stock. This is not possible. These references must be to an unrelated or non existent company. Angel Labs, LLC equity is not publicly traded or available and our private placements have been limited to accredited investors. Our ultimate business goal is to spin off companies that utilize our technologies and can go public, and that's probably a few years down the line. Angel Labs, LLC has 100+ inventions that cannot be revealed to public before being awarded patents, so we can not foresee it going public (mainly due to the difficult valuation issues). Please be on guard for fraudulent promotions. Thanks.
