No love for the U.S.? (Mazda BT50)

Mazda has announced plans to introduce the redesigned BT-50 pickup at the Australian International Motor Show.

Details are limited, but the BT-50 is described as an "active lifestyle vehicle that overturns the conventional image of a compact pickup truck." It features a Mazda6-inspired front end, bulging fender flares and wraparound taillights.

Available in multiple configurations, the BT-50 will be sold in Australia and Europe. It remains unclear if it will be offered in the United States.

More information will be released next month, so stay tuned for detail

I know right? they just dotn seem to sell enough little trucks int he US to make the dealers go for it.

They sell it pretty well oversees and its a bettter trcuk than the Ranger clone they had here.

Ford and Mazda just dumped a huge amount into their joint Thailand plant to build more trucks

Of course Thailand gets to build them instead of the folks in Minnesota

Unfortunately the imported truck business is 'bad' business. I think the tariffs are 25%. There is no way to compete even against Union burdened auto makers.

^ yep, that is the reason we got the Xterra, highlander, etc. instead of the diesel Nissan Patrol, Toyota Prada (sic), etc.

my buddy was able to get his hands on this Turbocharged right hand drive Pajero though he came from Canada to Moab Utah to wheel it
