I'm not sure if I'm yet sold on the looks. But the performance ... .

Aren't you worried though that when you start your busy career you won't have a whole lot of time to tell everyone about how much money you're going to be making?

Was that some kind of shot at me?

Pardon me for being excited about my future...

Now back to the GT-R...

I don't like the front styling, but from the side it's beautifulll.

You saying it's the iPhone of sports cars? I don't think there's that much hype. I agree, it is a very bad *** car.

I think there is way too much hype, and I don't think it will live up to it, at least not to me. However, it will no doubt be succesful because of all the skyline fanbois running around.

I'm sure like any high end import, there will be body kits galore for it. I would definitely slap on a new front bumper... I can live with the rear.

How do you think all the skyline fanbois will be able to afford it? I sold my 7 so I'll be looking into one of these cars but the majority of the kids who like imports won't be able to afford this car, I just don't see much of a market for it in the states.

I hope you have really good connections, and know what you're getting into. Right out of college, the odds of you getting a signing bonus are slim to none. And anyone paying for you to even relocate is slim to none also. It could eventually pay off big, but right out of the box its only reward is 80+ hours a week.

I applaud your enthusiasm, just trying to keep you grounded.

As for the GT-R...I'll reserve my thoughts on it until I see it perform at the track.

A bunch of my friends and friends of friends have gone into the investment banking business. They say that, while the pay is great, working 100+hr weeks for months and years on end gets old after a while, especially if you want to focus on anything other than work. They tell me that a lot of people will do it for 10 years or so and then "retire" to a more enjoyable, less soul-sucking job. If you like the investment banking kind of work and kind of life, then it's an amazing job and a great field to get into, but all that money comes with a big price.

The GTR is looking like a pretty good car. If Nissan can keep the weight down, which I somewhat doubt, then it'll be the car to beat in its price range. Even if it comes in at 3500lbs or more, it'll still be pretty competitive. Its AWD will give it a bit of an advantage over the (likely) lighter, more powerful Z06 under most conditions, and it will probably have enough power to out run the non-turbo 911s. Until they announce specs or even tentative specs, there's no saying for sure.

It has a higher profile than I expected. Maybe it's just the aspect ratio of the youtube footage though because the Porsche looked a little skewed too. I can't wait to see this car closeup. I just have a terrible feeling that the USDM is gonna get screwed somehow...like RWD and/or a NA 4.5L V8 platform instead of the preverbial AWD TT'd 6 cyclinder that's made Godzilla a wet dream for every kid with an intake on their Civic.

I have to say I've seen this skyline in person and I loved the looks and sound of the car. I had my heart set on a GT3 but after seeing this car back in April, I'm not so sure anymore.

I think he was saying that no one here cares about your future.

Anyway, when I move to Chicago and become president of the universe I will definitely buy this car.

Some great cars about to come out soon. The new BMW M3 coupe... and now this. The Nissan might be a little more pure of a driving experience as well... but I hate the feel of most all wheel drive cars...

That thing is an uggo, for sure. It looks like a G35C and New Mustang GT mated to form some ugly duckling.

If its production form can run the times that the mule is said to have run at the ring, I might pick one up if it's <3000 lbs [which means I won't pick one up...]
