i think this will be quite cool if this happens

new rx-8 comes with 16x and 1100kg
new mx-5 comes with 13b and 970kg

that will be cool

I doubt there will be a rotary in the new mx-5, especially since their is still so much uncertainty what the 16x will go into.

I was actually thinking about getting rid of the 8 next year and getting into the new 3 for a couple of years, then going back to rotary when the 16x comes out.

oh yea i mean still you don't even know if mazda is going to put 16x in the rx-8 yet any way

That's for the heavier hardtop version... base model is about 2450lbs.

Still, in a car that small, losing 200 pounds would make a huge difference.

More importantly, it's good to see Mazda moving in the right direction, hopefully they will have the same goals in mind for the next RX car.
