Not bad , not great, obviously its a photoshop, some tweaks and I think it will be a sharp looking roadster.

The current one has a simple, roadster type front end which is true to the original Miata concept and could easily be sold as is for another 4 years or so. This rendering is over styled, butchered (like a bad nose job) and flat out ugly with the black plastic bar and three slots. Hopefully the actual MX-5 won't look anything like this.

far as I'm concerned, they're transfering the wrong RX8 part to the Miata...try the engine Mazda!

Looks like some one photoshopped a Mazda 2 into a Miata. 10 dollar says it's fake.

That would be a nice option, but the 2.3 turbo in this badboy will be far superior in power. I personally can't wait to see what comes out of this. There's no reason for the MS Miata not to be a low mid 13s car. Lets hope they do it right.

Looks awful. Another refresh from Mazda that looks worse than the replacement. Hope it's just a photochop too.

Why is half the planet willing to accept that these are official Mx5 pics? Did these pics come from an official Mazda source? How many supposedly official pictures came out about each new WRX generation and turned out to be a photoshoppers' jaunt?

Yeah, this isn't even close. I don't think Mazda would butcher their beloved MX-5 like that...

The pics came from the same Japanese Mag that gave us the 99% correct pics of the new RX-8 a few weeks before the official ones....but you never can tell if they are just a photo-shopped exercise??

Looks less like a barbie car. Definitely more manly and aggressive. I like it overall.

I don't like the headlights on the current one so this one is an improvement in that regards. I absolutely hate the three mail slots below the badge!!!

I do like the RX-8 facelift. They got it right. The Miata facelift however is quite bad.

mazda's really pushing for a more aggressive look these days i guess, i don't think the designs are too bad but... for some reason they don't seem as "japanese" anymore, i dunno how to explain it. lost quite a bit of subtlety, but hey it coulda been worse. if they put in a renesis in that i'd take that up in a heartbeat.

I'm pretty sure the pics are from Best Car magazine. I was in Tokyo a week and half ago and saw the magazine and the article. While its true the pics they showed for the 09 RX-8 were on the mark, that magazine is notorious for slapping any old photoshop they can find and calling it a "scoop". I've seen so many pics from that mag over the last decade that are simply figments of someone's imagination.

Having said that, you never know, this one could be on the mark again. But I really have my doubts.
