Lightbulb New Engine

I have seen threads about what we can and can not put in the RX-8. Anyone ever think of taking the engine out of the 8 and into a nother car?
K Lets here it.

I've begun the process of putting one into an 06 MX5. We're still in the measuring stages presently.

Ah the Kabura! Since this almost definitely won't come from the factory with the rotary, depending on my success with the MX5, the Kabura (Or whatever they end up calling it) will be a breeze.

Absolutely, I will probably start a thread about it at the appropriate time. I'm working with a wrecked 06 Miata right now but should have the real deal by early next year.

You ever think of taking the 8 cutting the back doors off and moving it together? I wonder how much work would be involved? Man that would look so cool.

My first new car out of university, an '89 Suzuki Swift GTi, only 100hp and sub 1800 pound weight. It was what the mini should have been. A renesis in that would be too much fun, but worth more than the car. Better even...fabricate the rear axle in, talk about a sleeper.

The initial work is going very well. You should see how pretty that 13B looks sitting in there.

The Renesis will fit in just about anything.
However, it really isn't the right choice unless you are just going for the "cool" factor.

Rotary Miatas have been done to death. The Monster Miata will still run circles around it as will just about any FM Miata.

I'd like to drop one in the Smartcar coupe. That would be really cool and pretty fast to boot.
Now, it would be a trick to import one...

an s2000 with the renesis would be pretty hot. You'd have to bring over the transmission too, cause the one that comes with it tends to suck.

I think Monster Miatas have been done to death personally but I agree that there are other ways of accomplishing a lot of power and speed in that chassis. The 06 NC is just begging for what I will give it though. People always speak about how balanced a package they've always been, we're about to bring the balance. Normally aspirated S2000s had better beware at the racetrack (Autocross and circuits)

I think I'm going to throw a 20B in a BelAir. Then I'll start a website claiming how great it is and how much it pisses of the Hot Rod crowd. Then I'll post it up on a Hot Rod forum and watch the thread go on and on and never end...

I got the BelAir, if you got the 20b

Is it OK if it is a Station Wagon?

A Renesis-powered Elise would be one of the greatest driver's cars ever. Not that the Toyota engine is bad, but imagine a free-revving rotary in a ~2000lb car. Plus the RX-8 is rather quiet. Imagine hearing the Renesis sing right behind your ears!

Yeah, then you'd have a slower S2000 with virtually the same damn tranny... Brilliant!
