Then, suddenly I was without a car and BOOM!!! told her, well baby, now you have a new car and I have to find one for me,- Lucky enough to get the 05 996tt,haha.
Yes, Gt and Evo magazine have the GT3 and the 996TT making about the same power(415-420), very close. The GT3 is a better track car. The 996tt is a better overall car.
Now , the 997TT- 2007 coming out this summer, will make close to 480hp with a lot of improvements over the 996tt. 0 to 60 in about 3.5 secs Vs. 4.1 secs(Stock 996tt)!!!
The waiting list is so big that some people are getting theirs in march/April 2007.
My chance was now or never, LOL, So I took it.
Yes, not a lot of people are Porsche fans, but the TT takes you through a warp experience

Who's not a Porsche fan? I'm not. I have great respect for them, but I would never buy one.
And yes, I've driven 911s, Boxsters, 968s, etc...

im not a porsche fan, but the caman seems like it might change my mind. i respect the hell out of them though, just dont like the way they look. GT3 is sort of like the EVO... keeps up with ferraris and what not that cost 2x as much on the track.

Some things about Porsche are hard to respect. Why would the Cayman S (S no less) come with no LSD?
Secondly, why would Porsche come out with a Carrera GT that is a little bit lower than the Ferrari Enzo in EVERY SINGLE category when the Enzo was out years before it? How can Porsche not lose face doing that?

The Carrera GT was shown a year before the Enzo IIRC, and went into production the same year. It's doesn't seem to be measurably slower in any category, let alone every single and is regarded as a far more pure driving experience than the Enzo super computer. It also sounds better and looks better, IMO, and is 1/2 the price new, 1/3-1/4 the price on the open market. Plus it's a manual.
I agree about the LSD in the cayman. Though, the boxster or base 911 don't have it either. Porsche's DSC is supposed to act as an electronic LSD.

Well, that's strange. Then the Carrera GT production must have been delayed because my memory is telling me the Enzo was already out for 1 or 2 years before we saw the first Carrera GT. Every magazine I've read has the Porsche slightly slower or lower in every performance category. Taken together, that's statistically significant.
Many mags and people have criticized the Carrera for having a characterles face and headlights that are just borrowed from the other porsches' characterless faces. In contrast, the Enzo is one of the most visceral and masculine exterior designs in the history of cars.

0-60, 1/4 mile etc times are hardly indicators of these cars performance. Especially when the Enzo supercomputer has launch control, traction control, DSC, and flappy paddles while the CGT has only traction control and a third pedal.
Your comments about appearance is purely subective. I've read many articles where people are less than thrilled with the looks of the Enzo as well as articles complaining about the looks of the CGT. I happen to like the CGT better.

But I haven't yet read an article where they complimented the Carrera GT on its looks. They talk bad about the looks or they refrain from mentioning it.
Some mags will talk about loving or hating the Enzo looks, but they all agree it is very very visceral.

The 911 is a classy...sexy, tough looking design that is aging like almost nothing else out there (if there is something to compete).
But yes...the tail looks NASTY!

Plenty of mags have praised the Carrera GT looks. The Carrera is also damn close to the Enzo in most performance categories, has a open air roof, and is by most accounts the more pure driving experience. The biggest difference between the two is that the Carrera is actually attainable by someone with the money to purchase one, the Enzo you had to be allowed by Ferrari to purchase one of the 399 made.
Hands down the Carrera GT is the most amazing street car I've ever heard, second isn't even close. Compared to the Enzo it's a bargain and IMO is better looking. If I had the money I'd have a Carrera GT and with the money I save from buying a second hand Enzo I'd have a Ford GT and F40 parked next to my Carrera GT.

Smooth Criminal
I think I saw one of these last night, I was driving, so I had a hard time staring, but it was brand new, had that goofy wing on the back and paper tags. It was really sharp looking, I am almost certain it was the new GT3. I nearly snapped my neck trying to watch it go the other way, but had to drive. I have always loved a Porsche. One day...one day...I keep telling myself.

"ill go ahead and say it"
i LOVE the GT3. I understand being a Porsche owner is unique...but how do the few Porsche owners feeel about the comparison with the ZO6?....I personally understand that Numbers aren't everything-I drive an rx8....nothing proves that point more (that numbers aren't everything) -----but how would those, who have had the privlege of owning a 911-AND UP----vs. driving a vette, feel about the experience? I post this in hope to learn more, not question why a cars worth--- i believe car's like this are worth every penny,.....because they just should be....but i'd love to hear a driver's direct comparison....
