New 3 series out in the states?

I think I saw a new 3 series this past Saturday down here in Houston (59southbound for those familiar with the area). I was on the other side of the freeway but I am 90% sure it was a new 3--a white one. I assume it was heading toward Momentum BMW on the Southwest Freeway. When do they officially go on sale?

Hmm...this must have been a preview car for Momentum BMW then--cause it was definately not a 5 series or older 3.

Maybe, it was a riced out civic like the one I saw on Pimp My Ride. Thought they weren't coming out till late this year. The specs aren't even finalized yet.

Naw it was definately a Bimmer. The specs are pretty final as well--255HP and 200 or so HP for the 2.5L. As far as what it was I saw--the only one it could have been was the 5 series but I honestly doubt it--I'm pretty up on my car knowledge--but if yall boyz are tellin me there is NO WAY I saw a 3 series then I'll default to "it must have been a 5 series" reluctantly. :p

nope--none that I know of--definately none that would have the new 3 series--however Momentum BMW is one of if not the largest BMW center in the south.

Did it have manufacturers plates on it?

Maybe it's the 6 series. I've seen 3 so far and when I see them I'm like, "whoa". But then I remember it's price.

Edit: To me the 6 series does not look that big because of the styling .. It even looks smaller than the 5 series.

3 series aren't out yet. but you never know. sometimes you'll see a bmw w/ a bunch of body coverings, then you really know they're tryin' to hide the newest car from you. they do it all the time up in monteville NJ

The Auto show is this Friday? "Did it have manufacturer plates?" Could get close enough to tell--but if it wasn't the new 3 series then it had to have been a 5--but I seriously doubt it. If I see one at the Houston Auto Show, then I'll assume it was one of those. Plus remember the new 3 Series has already been unveiled--its over at BMWusa.com

Pics of 3-series

http://www.autospies.com/article/ind...7&categoryId=8

In the article it says it will debut at the Geneva Auto show, so it is officially not out yet. I have read something that said BMW leaked the photos of the new 3-series on purpose to take attention away from the new Audi A6 that came out.

I heard the same--well if it hasn't debuted yet 'officially' then I'll reluctantly say it must have been a 5 series then. Doubt it--but I'll give the win over to logic over my eyes.

New 3 is expected in dealerships around May.

Could have been a show car or a dealer prototype?

you probably saw the real new 3. i saw one too here by Montvale, New Jersey. this is the town where BMWUSA headquarters is. here, they got all different kinds of prototypes of BMW and MB driving around.

the one i saw had cover stickers on it but it was a couple months back. so it is possible that you saw the real deal.
