Need suggestions badly?? maybe a carfax hookup?
I was over my friends house today showing my car off and so so happens he is in the auto body business....as he was looking at my eye candy he pointed out that the most of the passenger side had been repainted. I bought this car from my dealer...it was 22900 with 1700 miles on it...A steal yea but it was Certified Pre-owned and all. What is the legality of this being its got obvious its been repainted and has obvious body sanding marks above the passenger door.
what can i do legally??
what can i do legally??

Only thing I can think of was that whomeva the orginal owner was possibly a corporate lease car maybe?, got into a small accident and had to sell the car possibly as in maybe hence the Auction company obtaining the vehicle. Then your dealer about it... fixed it up and put it on the lot for a nice lil profit since it was a 06 still. I could be wrong but one of my brothers old friends used to buy cars like this at auctions (re:damaged) and fixed them up to sell them for a hefty profit. Put like $500 in after paying only a grand for the car and turn around and sell it for 3-5k. Just a thought, that or maybe while your car was sitting in the lot some dumbass backed up into the door and they just fixed it on the lot.

Basically the part he's referring to says.
2/01/06 Shipped to original dealer from manufacturer.
then...
5/3/06 Sold at auction in Eastern Region. Listed as a manufacturer vehicle.
He's questioning why it went from original dealer to auction in three months.

Hm.. I think my other post might of been correct. The orginal dealer got it but damaged it, somehow they were able to write it off and put it up at auction. The new dealer bought it and fixed it up and made a decent profit.
I'd honestly say goto the dealer talk to a sales floor manager then work your way up the ladder till you get some answers and possible compensation. Hopefully its nothing to serious and the orginal dealer just ordered to many Rx-8's and decided to sell them at auction to recoup some of the possible loss. Then sadly while at the new dealer some moron scratched the door hence the repaint. Sad they didnt just strip the entire door down and repaint it instead of the partial hack job they did.
Find your answers get it repainted and a few oil changes for free hehe

Ok todays update is that the car was originally owed by a Mazda Northamerica Rep...they say its just someone who drives around and promotes themselves and products...so mazda has them put the car to auction after 1500 miles are on these cars...the car goes to a mazda auction just so that any mazda dealer has a fair oppertunity to buy the car. Whatever so i go to the dealer today and was flat out told that its no big deal and that it doesnt depreciate the value of my car which is a crock...anytime you repaint a car no matter how small it makes the value go down....they were quick to offer to clean up the overspray and tape lines in the roof of the car....which i declined...i need my evidence cause this looks like its going to have to go to a lawyer being they dont want to compensate me what so ever. Not to mention the rear window is not seated property and has blck adhesive pealing off o fit around the edges and the molding is curling and doesnt meet the truck lid. UGH

Ok the update for the day is I talked to Mazda Corp. Today...they said that they do not get involved until it becomes a Law suit. They suggested that i keep climbing the ladder till i cant get anymore. They took a complaint down for the dealership but who knows what that will do. So thursday it goes into service for the recall, the rear window being reseated, and the array of rattles being fixed. I was told by corp. that I need to talk to the GM of the dealer being the General Manager is ususally always the owner. WTF
